But then again were talking about a generation that aspires to make fry cooking and working a cash register a "livable career", but also want to make it so you can have a masters degree while doing so, all while making the "evil rich people" pay for it.

Pastor Ted is speaking.
The fact that I keep hearing "Amen" from his supporters scares me more than anything that Trump has said...

Re: 2016 Republican Primary
I have written many times in the past that I think it's a shame that people vote for President based on the economy. And if you're putting social issues ahead of the US economy, you're not very sharp.
However, having said that: Do you REALLY think Donald Trump has ANY clue with respect to macro economics? Really? When he's saying stuff like he's going to put tariffs on Chinese goods to "solve" the China problem? When he's saying stuff like we hold the cards with respect to China economically so we can make them handle Korea for us?
You BUY that crap?

Cruz does have a problem with his persona. He does come off as creepy. But he has a way better understanding of how to approach governance than Donald Trump does. And he actually knows and respects the Constitution. Trump does not.∞∞∞ wrote:This x1000. Had to turn it off...dude is so creepy.93henfan wrote:Watching Cruz. And, look, it didn't have to be Cruz. Republican primary voters had a number of choices. And they ended up picking the absolute worst that they could've picked.

"Freedom of religion"
The problem with this phrase is twofold.
One Democrats hate religion, perferring statism instead.
Two, Republicans believe that freedom of religion only applies to Christianity.

Re: 2016 Republican Primary
We have nothing on how Trump would govern, but let's be serious, all Cruz did was block and argue everything in Congress. Which is fine if he had fruitful debates with the opposition before making those decisions. But no, he can't even do that.JohnStOnge wrote:Cruz does have a problem with his persona. Re: 2016 Republican Primary
Are you saying Cruz is irrational because he said Russia is a threat again? I mean, I don't know if you're saying Cruz said that and therefore he's irrational but if that's what you're saying I don't get it because it's pretty obvious that Russia is a threat again.DSUrocks07 wrote:"Russia is a threat again"

Does anyone really think the President is the "governor" of the nation?Ibanez wrote:Who actually has the ability to govern a nation?JohnStOnge wrote:

The POTUS IS a figurehead. Who the President is doesn't matter, is who he surrounds himself with.

The "Good vs Evil" argument.
So by that argument, Russia should see us as a threat as well then?

Cruz suspends his campaign. I'm watching his concession speech and he just thanked Carli Fiorina for being an "amazing running mate".

He "signs off on the decision", he also goes by the winds of public opinion as well. He is the face of the nation.∞∞∞ wrote:The POTUS is a figurehead?
