As I noted after the article, it's about politics, not science.

You quote shit from overtly racist, anti-American and anti-Christian organizations all the time.

So what?

It's politics or opinion.

No serious scientist gives a prediction for climate change. There are multiple possibilities and outcomes. None of which I've endorsed
They call them "projections." But they do report on what they think is going to happen. See Chapter 10, Global Climate Projections, of the most recent IPCC report at http://www.ipcc.ch/publications_and_dat ... /ch10.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; .
Well, I believe that I must tell the truth
And say things as they really are
But if I told the truth and nothing but the truth
Could I ever be a star?

What do you think is more realistic? A scientist knowing they need to produce pro-global warming information, or someone who is willing to buck the trend to find themselves out on their own?

I find it simply fucking astounding how so many on this board believe the scientific community is some group of guys who just love to blow each other and agree with their findings. While it may be true in certain fields, it ain't so in the climate change field.

You fuck with my dollars and I will wreck you.

No one said that, as a matter of fact scientists are probably brutal with their cross examining of data through the peer review process. It's no different in the Climate Change field, the thing is that we have a lot of neanderthals who are not scientists giving their input on the matter, when they have no idea about what exactly the controversy is.

It's amazing how you can come to the right answer when money is involved.

I will admit they are brutal if they all belong the to the same family. You don't belong to that family and it doesn't matter, you are immediately cast as a heretic.

I know this is a total shit personal story, but I will tell it nonetheless.

Back when I was a Biochemistry grad student slave (I was not a grad student, just a slave), I remember when the scientific community came out proclaiming that the three drug cocktail was going to cure/stop AIDS.

The U of Montana raised doubt that it wouldn't work because of their work with FIV (Feline IV).

Did this matter? Fuck no. They were ostracized as being some podunk dipshit university and essentially told they weren't up to elite academic research levels.

Well, what do you know? They were right. I will never forget how my friends came back from that conference jaded and confused at what had happened.

While I realize this isn't always the case, it truly opened my eyes to how going against the money got you fucked.

The same can be said about AGW. You mess with the dollars, you are fucked.

Why do you think the whole debate immediately started with taxation? I have always felt that if the AGW group would have stated they didn't have 100% proof that man was causing warming, but were pretty sure and simply asked people to make changes, it would have happened. But no, it immediately started with the taxation agenda and how evil as hell every person was.

No, but I am a firm believer in the Mayan calender theory that the poles are going to switch on 12/21/12, and the difference in temps between AZ and ME could be the begining of that. 8-) :D
