I'm not a huge Ted C-R-U-Z fan, but I thought his speech was gutsy. He refused to endorse Trump for his own good reasons, and he suffered the howls of the Trump troglodytes as a consequence. Ted will be back, if there is a GOP to come back to in 2020.

I think that everyone would agree that there is a point at which the proper thing to do is break such a pledge. For example: Everyone takes such a pledge. A guy wins the nomination. Then after he wins the nomination it's learned that, though somehow it's escaped detection until now, the guy has said he believes in the extermination of Jews. Of COURSE nobody who took the pledge is going to stick to it.

Now, I know you don't think anything Trump did is bad enough to justify breaking the pledge. But the point is that we all would agree that there is some point in which deciding not to honor such a pledge is the right thing to do.

When they made that pledge I don't think any of those guys had any idea of just how bad Trump would be. They had no way of knowing how off the wall and unacceptable some of the things he would say and do would be. The guy went beyond the pale numerous times, showed himself to be a pathological liar, etc., etc.

I watch CNN on purpose just for the entertainment value of watching the liberal spin.

Listening to last night's panel after Trump's speech, you would have thought that the ghost of Hitler had just reappeared and announced the final solution for blacks, hispanics, and muslims. The black male host said that he had never been more scared to be an American. The hispanic woman went on a screaming rant about how he was calling all hispanics rapists and murderers. I mean, they didn't even listen to the man. They just created a speech that wasn't given. Total spin. They said the speech was dark, dividing, etc. Every negative they could throw on it. You'd have thought Trump gave a dud of a speech rather than the masterful speech he actually gave.

Now, watch all the flowery nonsense they heap next week. I actually enjoy watching them work. It's like a train wreck watching the dishonesty of the Clinton News Network. Frankly, I can't turn it off. It's too entertaining.
