How did these high-dollar lawyers make such a foolish mistake that implicates their client? Why does the administration keep lying about these contacts with Russia since it was all done in the course of a normal transition? Can some of you insiders help a poor country boy understand?

Because Trump 1) isn’t that bright and 2) doesn’t listen to counsel?

I really shouldn't complain, god knows I'm getting my money's worth entertainment-wise. Knowing that some lawyer just ruined his own career and will spend the rest of it trying to scrape what he just stepped in off of his shoe is taking the ol' schadenfreude to heights I never believed it capable of..

I just saw the CNN breaking news that Trump has shrunken the Bears Ears and Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monuments by 80% and 45% respectively.

There’s not one mention in the article that this is less than the proposed reductions submitted to Interior by the State of Utah. Or that the area is rich in uranium. Or that Hillary Clinton dealt uranium to Russia.

Shocking.

Was out at Lake Powell a year ago (Glen Canyon dam upstream of the Grand Canyon) - the locals reaalllyy don't like BLM and the GSENM. The basic problem is that by simply designating the massive land size of GSENM as a national monument the whole area is rendered useless - no grazing rights, no tourism/camping (other than unimproved roads and primitive sites with no services), no real access unless you're an advanced 4wheeler with proper equipment, etc. So the protesting activists likely have DC or LA or NYC addresses...

Just can't help himself.
Paul Manafort has been working with a man 'linked to Russian intelligence' while under house arrest

Former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort and a colleague linked to Russian intelligence ghostwrote an op-ed about Mr Manafort’s work around the Ukraine even as Mr Manafort faced federal charges for concealing the proceeds from that work, special counsel Robert Mueller’s office said.

As part of an investigation into potential coordination between the Trump campaign and the Russian government, Mr Mueller’s team has charged Mr Manafort and his associate Rick Gates with illegally concealing payments they received while working for various Ukrainian clients. Both men have denied any wrongdoing and called the charges unfounded.

According to a new court filing from Mr Mueller’s team, the legal cloud hanging over Mr Manafort has not prevented him from helping to pen an opinion piece about his Ukraine-related work.

The special counsel’s office alleged Mr Manafort was at work on the piece as recently as last week. And his coauthor, according to the new filing, “is currently based in Russia and assessed to have ties to a Russian intelligence service”.

Mr Mueller’s team characterised the op-ed as an attempt by Mr Manafort to sway public opinion around his case, which it said violated an agreement to refrain from activities that could undermine a fair trial.

The editorial clearly was undertaken to influence the public’s opinion of defendant Manafort, or else there would be no reason to seek its publication (much less for Manafort and his long-time associate to ghostwrite it in another’s name),” the filing argues.

Mueller Subpoenas Trump Deutsche Bank Records

Special prosecutor Robert Mueller zeroed in on President Donald Trump’s business dealings with Deutsche Bank AG as his investigation into alleged Russian meddling in U.S. elections widens.

Mueller issued a subpoena to Germany’s largest lender several weeks ago, forcing the bank to submit documents on its relationship with Trump and his family, according to a person briefed on the matter, who asked not to be identified because the action has not been announced.

“Deutsche Bank always cooperates with investigating authorities in all countries,” the lender said in a statement to Bloomberg Tuesday, declining to provide additional information.

Deutsche Bank for months has rebuffed calls by Democratic lawmakers to provide more transparency over the roughly $300 million Trump owed to the bank for his real estate dealings prior to becoming president. Representative Maxine Waters of California and other Democrats have asked whether the bank’s loans to Trump, made years before he ran for president, were in any way connected to Russia. The bank previously rejected those demands, saying sharing client data would be illegal unless it received a formal request to do so. Trump has denied any wrongdoing.

Calls and emails to the White House weren’t immediately returned before U.S. office hours. Handelsblatt reported the subpoena earlier Tuesday.

If that's where the investigation leads, I'm fine with it. But I doubt it will.

Maybe some day.

If Trump gets the cajones to fire Sessions and appoint someone who isn't a Hillary-bot to Attorney General. :ohno:
Attorney General Jeff Sessions has said there is insufficient basis to launch a special investigation of Hillary Clinton - dashing the hopes of Republicans who believe she should face the same scrutiny as Donald Trump and his administration.

Earlier this week, it was reported Mr Sessions was considering appointing a special counsel to examine Ms Clinton’s use of a private email server, various accusations levelled at the Clinton Foundation and the sale of uranium to Russia in 2010 when she was secretary of state. Many believed Mr Sessions was responding to Mr Trump, who had angrily told a radio interviewer it was “very discouraging to me” the Department of Justice was not “going after Hillary Clinton.”

But appearing before the House Judiciary Committee, Mr Sessions appeared to pour cold water on the idea of establishing such a probe, saying he did not believe there was a sufficient basis for doing so.

Mr Sessions was pressed by Republican congressman Jim Jordan from Ohio, who demanded to know “what it would take to get a special counsel”.

“It would take a factual basis that meets the standards of the appointment of a special counsel,” Mr Sessions replied.
That’s the only thing I can tell you, Mr Jordan. You can have your idea, but sometimes we have to study what the facts are and to evaluate whether it meets the standard that requires a special counsel.”

Sounds like the house of cards that is the donk hillary supporters in the FBI/Mueller investigation and their efforts to undermine Trump are starting to come to light. Things should get interesting. Curious what Cid's thoughts and predictions on this are.

I'll just rest on what I've already said. The focus has been on Trump's business dealings and those of his associates, rather than on conspiracy (for which there was and still is no evidence). The Jimmy Dore video really sums it all up well. :coffee:

My only additional prediction at this point is that the POTUS is going to tweet about the IOC in the next day or so....

Sure they can.
