As I've said multiple times, let's investigate.

I don't know where you think I'm defending Biden here. I'd like the facts to play out before we throw anyone under the bus, and this is the exact reason why we have Congressional hearings.

If the statement is true, who exactly are the leaders.ghat disregarded it? Was it the generals, the President himself?
Your defending Bidens* poor leadership and poor decision making under the guise of "everyone else made bad decisions on Afghanistan". And no one here is buying it.

The Afghan people were NEVER going to defend themselves. We spent all that time and money training forces that surrendered at the drop of a hat. And on top of that, we failed to protect human lives. Fuck the country going back to tribalism. If that's what they want then have it. But we failed to secure human lives. We signed thousands of death warrants and that's a big deal. It's meaningful to a lot of people.

It's not that we left - we had to leave. We knew the "peace" wouldn't last. It's the way we left which has endangered so many lives and has already taken lives as people are so desperate to flee that they're holding on to the tires of C17s just to try and escape. :ohno:
This. Trip is also not paying attention to the message this send to our allies which is probably the most damaging part (aside from the thousands that will directly die at the hand of the Taliban thanks to Bidens* poor planning). What an albatross around Bidens* and the progressives neck.

Going to enjoy watching the spin on this from the left though.
Progressives are pro Biden? They’re defending our FP mistakes? :?

You know multiple people can be involved in bad decisions. This entire war was a slow-motion trainwreck of bad decisions which culminated in the rapid evacuation of Kabul (and not by just the US, let's not forget that).

As I've stated in this thread, I do place blame on the Biden's administration handling of this particular situation. What I want to know is why it unfolded the way it did so we can at least learn from the mistake. I would prefer if Americans learned that war is tragic though, but I'm sure we'll be doing this again the next time there's a major.foreign attack on our country.

The last guy was impeached for less. Far far less. Not interested in investigations, people need to be fired and this whole debacle is 100% on Biden*. No amount of spin can change that fact.

Far less? Attempting to overthrow a democracy is not far less. Our elected officials almost died and his people went full-Taliban on Congress. Soliciting foreign interference in free elections is far worse as well. To this day millions of Americans think the election was stolen thanks to Trump.

If I was some dictator, Trump and many of his cronies, including some who stormed, would have been hung by now.

Biden's is a military mistake and not exactly the first in history. And if we're talking lives, Bush, Obama, and Trump got more people killed in Afghanistan than Biden. Far more mistakes - including the continuation of the war itself - happened under them. Where was the call for impeachment then?

People should be held accountable for how the war ended though, but I'd like to see twenty years worth of accountability as well.

Democracy wasn’t close to overthrown, and elected officials didn’t almost die.

And you are still clinging to the fake news Russian collusion delusion narrative from the left’s 1st impeachment attempt. :dunce:

You were going to tell us where the rational progressives have gone and if and when they'll ever come back.

Hopefully the irrational progressives like Bernie and AOChe haven't chased them away permanently. :coffee:

My position at this moment:

I don't know enough to have an opinion on what a Taliban controlled Afghanistan would mean. There are safe havens of scumbags all around Afghanistan. I don't know if it will matter in the long run.

But what I don't understand, is how Biden and the left will gladly welcome people across the southern border that have done nothing to benefit America prior to entering the US, but can't arrange for English-speaking Afghans that have helped us in the past to be brought to the US PRIOR TO THE EXIT.
