Posted because I've been saying for a while that litigation is what is going to prevent driverless cars from happening any time soon. I'm telling you, what insurance company is going to underwriter this? The only chance is for the US Gov to do it.

BUT: Don't hold Lawyers accountable for our wildly corrupt and broken legal system
Instead hold the citizens accountable

maybe after the world descends into civil war and we completely destroy civilization and have to start over

including rediscovering the technology

if the war starts today then I'd say about 1000 years- but we had better make sure there are no ambulances in this future world because there will always be someone to chase them

Hey, life changes. When a company like Google and Apple, and now actual car manufacturers begin putting a genuine effort into driverless cars, it'll be tough to stop its advancement. And all the statistics are beginning to pile up that these vehicles are insanely safer, more efficient, and increase our time availability (which will increase economic outputs). It's making it much harder to make a case against these vehicles.

And most people want it. From that standpoint, there's even a business case to be made.
