1) I was simply just speculating it would take at least a generation to pass because Hussein was such a violent dictator, the people had no spine.

2) Figured it would take children growing up and being proud of their country to defend it with any sort of effort.

3)Look at how the Iraqi troops run for cover or defect now.

How so? Where was my thought process incorrect?
1) The Iraqi people have no spine? :suspicious:  Apparently, the ISIS folks have enough spine to die for their beliefs. Plenty of Iraqis, by the tens and tens of thousands (even more if you count the victims) have had spine enough to have given their lives for their causes in the last dozen years or so...and many more in the years before we got involved. They have a lot of different, and often opposing, causes, though...you're simply too stupid to see that.

And violent dictators leave people with no spine? How about those Germans? Russians? Japanese? Chinese? All spineless?

2) Children growing up proud enough of their country to defend it? What country is that? Kurdistan? Sumeria? Babylon? Or are you referring to the mandated borders of 1920? In case you didn't notice, there are a heck of a lot of people defending areas in Iraq...though maybe you will grow up and out of your child like state in another generations' time to understand that they might not care about your idea of their, "country."

3) If someone attacked the US, you'd see the majority of people fleeing battle areas and running for cover...and we'd have our shares of defectors within the military, too. Flashback: during WWI, civilized countries, with so-called stable borders, and generations of proud people full of spines, had plenty of troops that needed to be encouraged, at gun point, to show a little effort at avoiding running for cover or defecting.

But hey, they were fighting for God and country, right? :suspicious:

However, it appears that I was wrong about you leaning on the Stupid button. Instead, it appears that you have it shoved way up your azz and stuck on the, "on" position. Maybe dback can help....he's had experience with that sort of thing. :thumb:

Feel asleep during your first straw man argument. A little tidbit to help you, I never mentioned spine and religion. It was all related to love of country and we all know there isn't any.

Also, so glad you finally got to "unload" that gem of a quip about the stupid button. Could tell you were frothing at the bit to get that one on record. Oooooh you got me!! :suicide: Douche.

It's funny, because I uploaded a video showing our "allies" the Syrian Rebel FSA Army doing gruesome beheadings- It got taken offline pretty fast- there were about 20 total beheadings they filmed- and right when they were about to cut the necks off of the actual people getting beheaded -they didn't yell CUTT!!!

Those were our ALLIES doing beheadings- yet you hardly ever hear about that on the news.

This is so staged.. You realize this same guy got taken hostage in Libya before too, right and was used as an excuse for NATO airstrikes against that country?

Oh, and I bet you don't care that the "Islamic guy about to "behead him"" - Isn't from Syria, or Iraq, but is in fact a British citizen.. England has been lock-step with the US on the war on terror since Blair and now this is being used as an excuse to bomb Syria?

Haha.. wow.

Ah, yes...the lowly, ignorant peasant who resents management.

How many Iraqis have you interviewed to find out why they are fighting? :suspicious:

Let me guess...none. Amirite?

Now, let's get back to those spineless Russians, Germans, and Chinese, Afghans...you know...because people who live under violent dictators must take generations to fight for their....uh...country, right?

How about those spineless Europeans under Rome? How about those spineless soldiers, many Christian...and many from well defined countries, who didn't want to march into machine gun fire in WWI (dummies, they were...they must not have fully understood the brilliance of their leader's tactics  )...they dropped their guns and ran (must have been living under some sort of dictator in their village and were still too traumatized to fight and run towards No Man's Land like a real man full of spine would, so thank goodness they were fighting for their freedom but must not have realized it) only to be shot full of holes by their commanding officer (you know, the management type).

But wait...I got sidetracked. How many Iraqis have you met in order to gain such an insightful knowledge of their position and condition? :suspicious:

Well, he can't answer that from experience...never having been in management.

But, he can certainly verify, and stand in as a living example, that one can be an simple minded tool who is full of shit, while also being a know nothing that few care about. :thumb:

Straw man?

YOU are making false statements. YOU directly connected (you used the word, "because"...which infers cause and effect) Hussein being a violent dictator to, "the people had no spine."

SeattleGriz wrote:

1) I was simply just speculating it would take at least a generation to pass because Hussein was such a violent dictator, the people had no spine.

Yup...that's your quote. :dunce:

And then YOU came up with this gem:

"2) Figured it would take children growing up and being proud of their country to defend it with any sort of effort."

As if people have to have a generation to grow up to be proud of their country to defend it. :dunce: Yeah, sure. Those communists Chinese, after overthowing Chiang Kai-shek (do you know he and his son killed 30,000 people on Taiwan, keeping it under martial law for 38 years  ), had a whole 3-4 years to rebound and defend their border and send hundreds of thousands of troops southward. A generation? Those Slopes must grow up quickly).

And then there was this stupid comment from you:

"3)Look at how the Iraqi troops run for cover or defect now."

Since you didn't back that up with a reason for them running for cover, we'll assume that it somehow relates to your previous two comments. You, of course, are probably familiar with our experience in Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, and a host of other countries, where we tried to prop up an unpopular government...and somehow a large section of those pesky troops just would not stand up under pressure. You might try looking up British history, French history, and...well, the world's history regarding conflicts involving artificial boundaries, resource exploitation, imposed puppet governments...catch my drift? :suspicious:

Damned shame those guys don't see things your way, right?

You should stop...seriously, you are making yourself look more ridiculous with every post. We're going to have to put you in a battle to the bottom of the intelligence scale with dal if you keep this up. :thumb:

Now, if you are asking me if I believe some of his claims, then that is different. I believe the US is purposely destabilizing many countries...we always have, and we always will.

Good timing!

spanos with a possible victory! :notworthy: :thumb:

"The beheading of American journalist, James Foley, at the hands of ISIS militants shocked the world but forensic experts have revealed the video was probably staged, with the murder happening off camera. The UK Times reported that an international forensic science company, which has worked for police forces across Britain, said there is no question Foley was beheaded but that camera trickery and post-production techniques look to have been used.
“I think it has been staged,” said one expert in visual forensics, after he was commissioned by The UK Times to examine the footage.
“My feeling is that the execution may have happened after the camera was stopped.”
Aymenn al-Tamimi, a fellow at the Middle East Forum think-tank, said over the years ISIS militants have improved the production quality of their videos.
The analysis by experts has highlighted a number of inconsistencies that could suggest that the beheading of Foley, which was seen on the video, was not his actual death."
