Not sure I recall saying anything about smuggling legal pot, but as 93 and I pointed out, that does already happen with legal cigarettes. Of course it will happen with pot. That said, I'm not sure it's one of the biggest challenges.

You guys who think it's going to be easy (Chizzy said the answers are not hard) are either naive, stupid or are blinded by your position.
It's already happened, and while there will be some bumps, it's really quite easy. :coffee:

1) Obviously growing and selling to the state requires a license

:dunce:
First, why if they are necessary, are they dumb? :suspicious:

1) So everyone who grows it illegally now will either stop growing it or get a state license. Not happening.

How is it paranoia? Hogie posted the article showing 80% of CA's pot purchases are black market... pretty much like I said would happen.

I bet 80% of the liquor sales in Ashe County, NC are "black market." ;)

That may be true. But alcohol is actually a good example. In general, the black market in alcohol cannot compete with the legal market. The black market enjoyed its glory days when legal alcohol was banned. Now a person can go buy a liter of legal grain alcohol that is regulated to ensure its (relative) safety for like $14. The black market can't compete with that.

If they're doing it right pot should cost about as much as coffee does. And it should be of consistent, regulated quality. If there is a situation where a black market is perceived as better they're doing something wrong.

Well John...
Since economic systems don't work at light speed we'll have to see

We're talking about a mature underground farm system
that's been providing 5 billion dollars worth of Marijuana to the United States for over 30 years
Its not going to just disappear because California officially legalized the process
no matter how politely they ask them to stop selling pot

$14 for a liter :suspicious: That works out to about $11 for .750 liter or a 'fifth' (Yes we know that .750 liter is actually a little less than 1/5th of a gallon, but people call the .750 liter bottles 'fifths' out of habit). What kind of shit are you buying in Louisiana for that cheap? Most store bought shine isn't as good as good backwoods, and any halfway decent stuff that's close is going to be more like $25-$35 + sales tax for a 5th.
