It's not the republican's fault that more counties are predominately republican. If you don't like it, come up with some new system to elect House members.
They are drawn up by population.
Gerrymandering occurs when the party in power in the state government redistricts to maximize favorable demographics.
NOT based on geography, NOT based on counties, NOT based on land area, etc.
And, yes, Democrats do it as well in states they control. I'm against it regardless.
It also wouldn't be that difficult to face. A cluster analysis using GIS would work fine... it would create the number of districts needed with equal population, without regard for any demographic information.
