How about this....those who are worried about the virus and want to get to the vaccine, get the vaccine.

Those who aren't worried, and will accept the risk, don't get the vaccine.

There. Issue solved.

Just reporting what was on the local news. First case of an event requiring the vax that I've noticed.

I doubt RFK Jr was there.

Unfortunately there are people on both sides that for some reason care what you do and will tell you their feelings on it. That goes with anything - vaccine, diets, religion, etc...

So Fauci goes on CNN and contradicts Pfizer's finding that after 6 months, the effectiveness of the vaccine drops to around 65%. Pfizer CEO apologizes to Fauci for stating a booster may be needed.

Fauci has negative credibility in my book. He has contradicted, equivocated, lied, and covered up from the beginning.

Let’s hear from someone who’s still in their mental prime, with proper credentials and experience.

Fauci is the Joe Biden of epidemiology.

What more experience and credentials do you want than someone who has spend decades studying and responding to disesase outbreaks? You've got the guy!

OK So Raul is perfectly fine with Fauci covering up the lab leak theory and intentionally misleading the entire population of its origins. Gotcha.

I didn't say I was fine with it. Just pointing out that Fauci is one of the guys with the experience and credentials. With regards to COVID - everyone at the top is dirty. Fauci obfuscated the origins - but the cover-up didn't cause more people to die or take the threat less seriously. Trump downplayed it's severity and spread false hope. Democrats when overboard with their 3 mask, facial shield and bubble precautions.

But hey - we should expect these guys to be perfect little angels, right? Heaven forbid someone in public health or politics prove their human by making mistakes or a bad decision.

It's all shades of grey. :twocents:

 I see there's a very VERY remote chance (.0001%), especially if you're a male 50+ of contracting Gillian-Barre Syndrome. It's an extremely rare autoimmune disorder which people survive more times than not but there are long lasting effects. You won't see it with Moderna or Phizer b/c they were created using mRNA technology. There's a protein which scientists suspect play a role in GBS.

I' had it and still deal with some long term effects (a lot with fatigue, pain sensitivity, muscle weakness). Temporary paralysis and learning how to walk again sucks but it's better than the alternative.

sounds delightful. So much better than a virus that has a 99.9% survival rate. :coffee: :coffee:

I mean, who doesn't look forward to having to learn to walk all over again?

I think you have that backwards. Moderna and Pfizer are mRNA. J&J is not.

Typo "were" not "weren't". It's the proteins used in the J&J version.

What's the survival rate for someone with your BMI (which is probably similar to mine)?

There are so many other factors....smoker/nonsmoker? Diabetes? BMI? Lung issues? Blood type? Race? Age? Gender? Variant? Other comorbidities?

Were it only as simple as BMI.... :tothehand:

But BMI is a factor and it appears to have a negative impact on the rate of severity and survival.

Indeed. It's a large part of why the US death rate was higher than most countries....
