Yeah, for like 13 people at an invite-only soirée.

Big fucking deal.
It was a wedding. A big one. Open bar. And if you are invited WTF do you care?

Ok I went ahead and listened to the whole thing instead of cutting it off early to make sure there wasn't going to be something I missed but I totally disagree. At least in terms of what sounds good to me. Not that it was awful. But through most of the song you would not have even recognized the song as "Just Got Paid" and then there was the thing where he morphed into Led Zeppelin's "Dazed and Confused." Totally different style than Gibbons to me but to me it doesn't sound as good. I know some people may like it better but not me. To me listening to ZZ Top playing "Just Got Paid" is a lot better than that was. Just WAY more real and gritty. Plus it's a "slide guitar" song and that guy didn't do any slide guitar at all. That guy missed the entire character of the song. It was like listening to Donnie Osmond do Black Sabbath.

To me that guy was the classic type Unknown Henson makes fun of.

Big Bonamassa fan. Gibsons through Marshalls. Like his style and sound...and his goofy cheap suits...genuine cool.
Lookup his Rockpalast gig from the 2000's on youtube...Anton Fig on drums. Fucker shreds.

Joe is a great technician, better chops than BG, but his playing doesn't raise the hair on the back of your neck, thats a "feel" thing which BG has more of. When I've seen ZZ Top, five times, its the drummer that impresses me the most, every time.

Oh, horsecrap, Hippie. I like Gibbons/ZZ Top, but Bonamassa can chop up Gibbons in any style.
Oh I'm not debating who's a more technically proficient guitarist...
I'm disagreeing with your idea of which version of the song is better

ZZ Tops original version is far more enjoyable to me
and additional "solo wankery" does not improve the song (at all)

Lets me just say that i love this song- its one of my favorite led zeppelin tunes, its one of two or three that really make me want to get inside Jimmy Page's head to see WTF is going on in there

For pure technicality I used to like Eric Johnson but i cant listen to him for very ling because its just too clean
