I personally think Romney would have been an excellent president.

I think he is pragmatic to the extreme and he is honest about it. That cannot be said of the others.
He received a candidate's foreign policy briefing from NSA and Langley, and drew some very common sense conclusions from it. He commented on those conclusions in spite of the predictable tut tutting he knew he would get (Russia, Taliban).
No Bush and no Clinton ever would have gone after Russia in a foreign policy debate, because they are all politically dishonest. I have seen no evidence that Romney is.
