We already don't have Salmon or Steelhead near Charleston, so no biggie. We'll take the jobs.

It could seriously be argued ^ by most states
Particularly any state having economic troubles - what the trade off values are

Each has to decide and measure the consequences of each decision
And trust me - there are always consequences for every decision

Washington is busily attempting to understand the consequences of driving Boeing away
There are MANY huge employers in the state

Microsoft 42,000
University of Washington School system 25,000
Amazon has 15,000 employees in Seattle
Wayerhouser has 10,000
Costco has 10,000
Fred Meyer has 7,000
Nordstrom has 6,000

I drive by Boeing every day. It's confined by the airport, the Air Force Base, the interstate and a parkway. There hasn't been anything in the news or the rumor mill about fines levied by SC. I've heard of the penalties from the FAA, but not from SC. You might be referring to the 466 acres that Boeing is leasing (for $1/yr) that had different zoning classifications. All the land was mostly undeveloped, except for a trailer park. There was a wetlands mitigation plan that had to be completed and approved by the Army Corps of Engineers and all of that was successful. Much of the wetlands is left over from when the area was a phosphate mine. The biggest "scandal" had been the sale of the trailer park to Boeing which forced the removal of 400+ mobile homes. Those mobile homes, being there for decades, were an environmental catastrophe.

How about breaks on property, B&O, sales taxes that the big boys receive?

Reduced property taxes are an incentive to get the big boys to move there, and only a tiny handful of states have B&O taxes (which are ridiculous). I can't speak for all states, but I know for a fact that Georgia doesn't give breaks on sales taxes (other than the exemptions already allowed for ALL qualified taxpayers).

...and their share is picked up by homeowners.
