Yes. You may disagree politically with McCain, but he served his country honorably and suffered for it. Find some other way of expressing your disagreement.
You mean like writing off the deaths of his children?

The "Noble Military" horseshit has got to stop - its a profession - just like any profession and is as honorable as you make it... Being in the military today isn't any more honorable than being a politician yet somehow we love trudging out that old mantra, wrap it in a flag and slather it with guilt

Its still bullsh!t - no matter how you beg to slice it

Liberals love using "Teachers" in this same ridiculous manner...
"Oh the honorable poor teacher" all bow to them and feel their pain

Chizzy, do you not understand the difference between venerating the people who wear the boots and carry the guns in a war zone versus venerating high-ranking officers?

Putting your life on the line for a military that is supposed to protect the US and its interests is noble.

It's mainly groups like the Kerry campaign that think people don't know the difference between what privates do and what Lieutenants like Kerry do in a war like Vietnam.

WWII is over... Vietnam is over...
Lets talk about TODAY 2014 real time - right now

Lets all get on the same page - because if you want to talk about WWII and fighting a global enemy - sure - we can all have that conversation and its a completely different conversation with different variables and different issues

Or we can actually talk about TODAY (75 years later)

Like this:
"Computers in the future may weigh no more than one-and-a-half tonnes."
- Popular Mechanics, 1949
"I think there is a world market for maybe five computers."
- Thomas Watson, Chairman of IBM, 1943
"I can assure you that data processing is a fad that won't last the year."
- Chief Business Editor, Prentice Hall, 1957
"Yeah, microchips, but what... is it good for?"
- an IBM senior engineer, 1968
"There is no reason anyone in the right state of mind will want a computer in their
home."
- Ken Olson, President of Digital Equipment Corp, 1977.

These thoughts about computers are no longer relevant ^ can we all agree on that?

Old Ideological notions need to be examined in the light of TODAY

Remember AZ:
Not long ago you and I agreed that our on the ground fighting Military should be 100% Mercenary

We need a full re-examination of our ancient ideological concept of MILITARY

How was it different then as opposed to today, Cleets? We went to Vietnam because we wanted the South to be free but Iraq was about oil and Halliburton and such?

If you can't see a difference in America circa 1967 and America circa 2014 there is no reason to even have a conversation... we must establish at least a launching point for debate - if yours is "everything is the same" between now and then then there is no conversation to be had

Truth is now out. Cleets not only hates what the American soldier stands for, but believes they are all idiots with no other options in life. I wonder what he thinks of his 28 teachers! America hatin' bastige. :kisswink:

You gain a lot by having well trained highly paid mercenary soldiers...

1) They can't be told to kinda fight a little bit (see Vietnam and Iraq 1990's) You send them in to do what they do and can't tell them "how to do it"
2) They won't fight for totally stupid sh!t... they have active BS Meters and respond in kind

Those two points alone are worth totally re-evaluating our fighting forces...
