The problem is, some of the ones cancelled probably shouldn't be cancelled and ones going forward for eternity probably should be cut completely. I don't have a problem with government per se, it is a necessary evil but we really will have to figure out a way to cut it back where it needs too. It can't grow and grow and grow and I am certain there are lots of places it could be cut and save us billions if not trillions.Ibanez wrote:My point is that to people inside the MI complex, we see a different story. One by one little things are being cancelled and those "savings" are adding up. One by one projects are having to run at full speed with 50%-70% less funding. That goes to show how some projects were over inflated. It also shows how the government is starting to do a lot of the work themselves. Defense contractors who serve in financial and PM roles are constantly offered to switch to a government job because their contract will not be renewed. Less contractors equal more government personnel. It's getting lean in some places.Chizzang wrote:

But we all know it won't happen. The government is only going to grow and the the trough will get bigger and bigger. We all know how this is going to end, it is only a question of when.
Our Federal system is designed to grow / not shrink
Committees will not dissolve themselves
Departments will not reduce their tasks and seek less influence and ask for less
Our military isn't self regulating and closing down projects and asking for less
The TSA will never serve itself up as an appropriate example of why the Federal Govn't cannot be handed a project of that scope and successfully implement it...
The examples are ENDLESS / It's not going to get smaller
It's been 140 years
Since a President left office with a Smaller Government than he was inaugurated with
and that obviously includes a whole bunch of Republicans who promised smaller government
IT AIN'T HAPPINEN BRO
We need to quit using the DOD as a open check book. We have over paid for a new Destroyer and a Aircraft Carrier. for What????
