In a country where abortions are illegal... miscarriages have to be investigated as potential abortions.

Here's a bill introduced in Virginia by the Republican nominee for Attorney General - Mark Obserhain.

Requires all miscarriages to be reported to law enforcement within 24 hours.

Failure to report a miscarriage to law enforcement within 24 hours would be a class 1 misdemeanor punishable by up to 12 months in jail and a fine up to $2,500.
