The President, it seems, is not above using people as examples in attack ads without permission. It's happened before, but it's REALLY bogus now. Apparently, he's insinuating something very sinister in Gov. Romney's proposal to defund lib machine PBS. That is, that Romney is somehow equating Big Bird with Bernie Madoff as Public Enemy #1. They put out a slick attack ad on the subject, but somehow they forgot something very important: getting Big Bird's permission (or, rather, that of the outfit that produces Sesame Street). They have asked the Obama Campaign to cease and desist.
I wouldn't be surprised if they took the same tack that Dianne Feinstein is taking with Elizabeth Emken: ignore it.
