I won't donate to GSU as a private citizen because of their stance on Ayers, which is my right.
To draw a parallel on my deciding where to make charitable donations with the mayor of an American city seeking to deny an otherwise lawful operation a business license because of constitutionally protected opinions of it's founder severly misses the mark.
Emanuel as a public official has NO right to deny Chick Fil A the opportunity to lawfully conduct business. On the other hand, I as a private citizen have every right to decide where and to whom I make charitable donations.
