And yes, "spokeswoman" was intentional.
Turns out I might be a little gay. 89Hen 11/7/17

Re: Catholic Church: Any support for Gay Rights = NO MONEY
I have read the Bible several times cover to cover. I don't think there's any way to reasonably interpret it as saying that expressing homosexual behavior is OK. Now, I think it can be interpreted as saying that we should not judge others. You know, "Let those among you who is without sin cast the first stone." That sort of thing. But there's no way it presents homosexual behavior as anything but unacceptable.I think you and the rest of the Catholic hate group need to actually study the Bible...
Of course the Catholic Church does not view the Bible as some other Christian sects do. But, still, think of this:
Suppose there was an organization that was involved in supporting the poor but also involved in promoting the idea that extra marital sex in general was OK. Would it shock you if the Cathoic Church opted not to support that organization?
I hope the honest answer to yourself is "no." The Cathoic Church views the actual expression of homosexuality...the actual act of having "sex" with a member of your own sex...as sin. It is prefectly reasonable to expect that it would not fund an organization that promotes the behavior.
Well, I believe that I must tell the truth
And say things as they really are
But if I told the truth and nothing but the truth
Could I ever be a star?

Very good thoughts as usual Ursus. But a brief clarification and follow up:Ursus A. Horribilis wrote:So what? People don't like other people big fucking deal. You and I, and many others think religion is pure bullshit. We don't support it so to speak because it goes against what we believe.D1B wrote:
The primary issue is that the church's beliefs are fucked. It's bigotry, plain and simple and due to size and influence of the catholic church, it breeds more bigotry.
Just because you want to use another word for feelings doesn't mean shit.
The simple fact is that the Church does not believe in homosexuality, that's fine, I don't believe in the church for many other reasons and that last one more recently just solidifies it for me.
But, acting like they should not stand behind and believe what they want to believe is just as fucking silly of a notion and then acting like they have some obligation to do what they do not believe in is even further down the hole.
They don't have to do shit for a cause they don't believe in. Gays should be doing the work if it is something they believe in. You marginalize the fucking church by saying "we don't need ya anyway", instead of saying "we don't like you or believe as you do but we think you oughta pony up instead of us doing it.".
I don't think anyone here is saying the church can't pull their funding. But considering the power of the church and their involvement in politics they're not above ridicule here are they?

Brother, the Catholic Church and it's stances are always open to ridicule.kalm wrote:Very good thoughts as usual Ursus. But a brief clarification and follow up:Ursus A. Horribilis wrote: So what? So is the opposition that acts like this is a shocker and complains if they aren't picking up the slack for what they believe in, which is in stark contrast with the church on this one.

I didn't even know we were easing into one.
