Gingrich's hypocrisy is the problem. He was speechifying family values while asking his wife for an open marriage. And after last nights debate with Newt taking John King to the woodshed over the first question being about the allegations and getting a standing ovation for it, it's the hypocrisy of the entire party that's so delicious.

I would have been embarrassed to be in that audience last night.

Or the previous debate where some people literally booed RP for suggesting the golden rule when it comes to foreign policy. evidently the non christian/interventionist wing of the party.

I've got to vote tomorrow and I'm still undecided. Normally someone would jump out by now, but for every thing I find interesting about a candidate I can find an equal negative offset. It's pretty sad.

I'll say it before and I'll say it again: I can't understand how my friend Bill White. a pro-business Clinton Democrat and successful mayor of Houston, ever lost to that guy. I guess Texas Democrats have some work to do.

- social conservatism: traditional family values, no gay marriage, pro-life, etc.
- fiscal conservatism: a smaller government that operates within its means.
- historical conservatism: let's go back to the good ole days of Donna Reed and Leave It To Beaver

I disagree on social conservatism. These people prop up Freedom of (from) religion, but want to make sure everyone else in the country follows their lead. All jokes about Gingrich aside, there's nothing conservative about pushing your morality onto someone else through the use of legislation. I say this admitting I'm a follower of Christ, while recognizing others think differently.
