Serious question. Is this tribalism, cult worship, fear of retribution, or just plain old stupidity?

Good news for TDS 88, Klamdami and KY jellyfuddyduddy

“Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. raised some eyebrows last week by telling podcaster Adam Carolla that not only is Trump Derangement Syndrome a real thing, but that he has considered officially giving it an ICD (International Classification of Diseases) code.

While the secretary's remark may have been somewhat in jest (he was responding to a joke about a hypothetical TDS vaccine), he has been clear that the phenomenon that has torn apart so many Americans is indeed happening, including in his own family.

"It doesn't take long for me to pick up on this: People are obsessed with Trump. They’re fixated. They’re hyper-fixated on Trump," he continued. "And they talk about some of the features of this disorder. They can’t sleep. They feel traumatized by Mr. Trump. They feel restless."

It will probably be difficult for MAQA yahoos to overcome the Qult programming but they should give being rational & reasonable a try.

Trump is responsible for 1/3 of the debt. TDS is trying to divert the discussion to Biden.

Do you remember the violent reaction from the left on DOGE?

That national debt is not gonna get solved
Americans are too spoiled and the politicians are the enablers for power

Democrats never even mention it

At least some Republicans do

Yeah…DOGE is a complete failure. Things like EBOLA outbreaks could have been stopped. Not only saving lives in Africa but preventing spread.

We can reduce it through cuts and gains in efficiency. Military spending and corporate welfare, and not just social programs. Plus figuring out way to make up for the loss in high end and corporate tax revenue.

It may become essential if faith in the dollar and the U.S. as a reasonable trade partner fall.

No we can’t, it’s way beyond that

We pay more to interest on our borrowing than we in do on the military…

It’s really unsolvable given the entitlement mindset we have

Part of that interest is RELATED to military spending going back decades.

Yep. We are beyond the point of no return. The worst thing our govt ever did in 250 years was the creation of the Fed.
-Prior to the creation of the Fed the US never had a permanent Fed income tax.
-1790 to 1913 the purchasing power of the dollar was largely unchanged. (CATO article claims -8%). 1913 to present the dollar has lost approx 98% of its value.
-Going off the Gold Standard completely eliminated any constraints on govt to borrow and spend money and run up a virtually unlimited fed debt, with no counterbalance put in place at the same time like a balanced budget amendment (like most states) except in years of declared war or national emergency.

If that BBA had been put in place in 2013 along with the creation of the Fed, we’d have little national debt, probably my higher taxes, and have had tens of trillions less spending on:
-New Deal
-Entitlements (like Medicare & Medicaid)
-‘The War on Poverty’
-Military post WWII, so we wouldn’t have been the world’s policeman the last 80 years subsidizing Europe’s social safety net by paying for their defense.

The waste and fraud would have been less because with no restraint on govt spending there isn’t the incentive to go after it. The govt can just print more from the magic fucking $$$ trees in DC.

We’ll never get a BBA passed now. Zero chance of that.

The point is for the first time in history, paying the interest on the national debt has surpassed the entire annual budget for department of war
