The country has moved left on social issues such as same sex marriage and the legalization of marijuana. It hasn't move left on the size, scope & reach of government which is where Biden has moved left.kalm wrote: ↑Mon Jun 19, 2023 5:43 pmBiden has moved a little to the left rhetorically and on sone issues but do has the country hence the corporations following suit. We're talking about now, not when FDR or even Bill Clinton were Presidents (Eisenhower was a Republican).
And yes, the Democratic Party has a a corporatist wing, but that wing isn't nearly as influential as it once was and many US corporations have embraced leftist approaches in order to market their products.
Both parties have moved toward their extremes. The extremists are the loudest and most active so they drive the debate at the local party level. Gerrymandering has given them even more power within their parties and driven the moderate/centrists to the side.
I don't know how to help you if you can't see the hypocrisy of complaining about Republicans calling Democrats Marxists/communists but having no problem with Democrats calling Republicans Nazis/fascists.
There’s hypocrisy if both are equally true. They’re clearly not. Agree with you on the gerrymandering and divisiveness tho. The plagues of a two party system that leaves very few good options.
They're not equally true ... Sanders is an avowed socialist. AOChe was/is a member of the DSA. They promote socialist political policies and views. They're closer to Marxists/communists than trump and his minions who are wannabe tinpot, banana republic dictators not competent enough to call themselves fascists.
