You guys see this? Obama read off some good jokes but Larry Wilmore...damn. The media didn't care for his jokes.
And he seemed obsessed with blacks. He took some good jabs at Clinton.

Re: White House Correspondents Dinner
I saw a video on FB of Barry doing comedy. I have to admit, it made me laugh. Especially the Joe Biden shit and Boenhor offering him a cigarette.
"Elaine, you're from Baltimore, right?"
"Yes, well, Towson actually."
"Yes, well, Towson actually."
Re: White House Correspondents Dinner
I watched it live. The comedian bombed miserably. He just wasn't funny. The look on Wolf Blitzer's face when the kneegrow was berating him was very uncomfortable. The guy tried a bunch of racial comedy too that just didn't work. Chris Rock and George Carlin were masters at that. This guy flopped like a trout in the floor of the boat. He beyond sucked. I don't like Ted Cruz and I still found the Zodiac joke unfunny. And he kept going on and on and on with it. They really needed one of those big hooks to yank him off stage. Just awful to watch, especially when he was reading word for word from his notes.
Obama was very good, though it wasn't his best.

His delivery was stiff...and the crowd didn't like his jokes.
I thought he had a few good ones...but he tried to hard on the race angle...and, of course, he showed his true colors at the end.
Didn't see Obama's stuff on the video...not going to try to find, or watch, that because his real life stuff is too funny...almost tragic.

These signatures have a 500 character limit?
What if I have more personalities than that?

The Boehner cigarette scene is great.

That's because Larry Wilmore wasn't involved with it.andy7171 wrote:The Boehner cigarette scene is great.
I probably got a skewed view of him with this being my first exposure. Maybe he's actually funny on Comedy Central.

His show is an absolutely abysmal replacement for the Colbert Report.

OK, so I guess he's always not funny then.Grizalltheway wrote:His show is an absolutely abysmal replacement for the Colbert Report.
It's a shame, because most black comedians kick ass.

It's just a completely different thing from a different direction. I don't watch his show a whole lot but I don't think he cares a whole lot that people may not always be onboard with his comedy. He seems to be OK dwelling in the uncomfortable. That in itself is decently funny for me.93henfan wrote:OK, so I guess he's always not funny then.Grizalltheway wrote:His show is an absolutely abysmal replacement for the Colbert Report.

Didn't get to see the Correspondents Dinner but wish I had recorded it. I have always thought Obama has a timing that is very easily adaptable to comedy and he always delivers pretty well from things I've seen him do in the past.
