I think I'm seeing why Democrats and liberals now openly embrace Socialism whereas in the past they denied it-

But what you are describing isn't Socialism- in fact you've moved even further away from it.

If I wanted to indict republicans I would have done so- there's plenty to go with. But this thread was about the dink debate and the fact that the Demo have slid so far left that capital S Socialism is something their base now embraces

Evidenced by the way the whole field except Webb tilted hard left, while ol Bernie stayed Bernie. 4 years ago it was still a dirty word. Now it's just Feeling the Bern

deficit always goes down under Democrats, as it did under Clinton, and has been doing under Obama.

Taxes DO need to be raised on the wealthy - they have been waging a class warfare on the middle and lower classes, and many loopholes need to be plugged.

And of course, not spending trillions on useless wars would help, or trillions on worthless defense systems

Time will tell before this happens to Republicans and fascism.

If Trump doesn't make it happen this presidential election cycle - it will in 2020. :thumb:

Socialism.... the lefts way of trying something that has failed miserably wherever it has been tried

Because of human nature

What do they call it when we continually try the same thing over and over expecting a different result?

I think Einstein said something about it

The idea that we've substituted Corporations for Persons is apparently "baffling" to CID
All you have to do is read this link to see it laid out
http://www.goodjobsfirst.org/sites/defa ... ations.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

But that's all that has happened
No - its not the "text book" definition of Capitalism - but its the version we have created

When a federal system decides its most valuable resource is large companies (not individual citizens) and substitutes the corporation for the citizen you have what we have "Socialism for Corporations"
and I'm not even sure I would argue that this isn't actually the best solution
in fact I am inclined to think it is...

Nobody wants to hear it explained like that because you come off sounding like a Marxist
But it manifests itself - this company as person substitution - in so many ways across the board

It is the America version of Capitalism

But those IRS sourced graphs and charts suggest something different than what Democrats are saying. That can't be right...
