Re: What do your Best Season Tickets Cost?
For Portland State, $6500 ($2500 for the tickets and a $4000 donation) gives you an entire suite (25 tickets per game) and personal catering at Providence Park for the season. If you fill the suite every time, that comes to about ~$43 per ticket. Not too shabby, actually. Suite info: http://www.prov...

Re: Portland State Fires Nigel Burton
The university had been subsidizing the football program to the tune of $800k or so a year while the university itself ran into the red as well. The new mandate is that football needs to become self-sufficient. Since nobody comes to Portland State games, that's going to be a tall order without playi...

Re: CCU going to teal turf
I don't think so. The Mountain West temporarily barred Boise from wearing blue jerseys on their turf, but even that went away. Eastern Michigan just installed grey turf and I'm sure it isn't the last we'll see. The colored turf trend really isn't nearly as big of an issue as people make it out to be.

Re: ROOT's Big Sky Coverage Wins Regional Emmy
I really enjoy ROOT's broadcasts and am glad to see their Big Sky coverage is being recognized. They do leave some teams out in the cold, but typically that's because they're not in ROOT's broadcasting footprint. It sucks, but it makes sense.

Portland State punter Kyle Loomis
Portland State recently held their annual athletics fundraiser and released this video about their punter, Kyle Loomis. Long story short he went to Oregon State for one year, left to join the army, then joined the Vikings when he returned home. Now he's the leading punter in FCS football. Interestin...

Re: UND...WTF is going on over there?
The shirts are cheesy and perhaps in poor taste, but even under the strictest codes of conduct at private schools (and UND is public) you still couldn't get expelled for that. They'd have to be cited for under aged drinking or something explicitly illegal for the university's conduct office to get i...

Re: ROOT Sports Big Sky Schedule
Portland State will also appear on TV two more times when they play Washington State and Oregon State (most likely on the Pac-12 Network). It's pretty remarkable to see them go from 0-1 televised games to almost half a season in only a few years. Now if we could only get people to show up to games...
