FBS/FCS
Wanted to take this in a different direction. Recently saw some talk on this topic in a forum. Anyone think it's possible that the NCAA gets rid of the distinction in the future and just makes football like all other d1 sports?

Future of BSC/other conferences
Posted this over at cs.com also... With tonight's news of USD joining the MVFC instead of the BSC, I thought I'd throw out something worth considering. As of today, the Big Sky has 11 all-sports members and 13 football-playing. If TCU does indeed go to the Big East which seems very possible, the Mtn...

FCS Independents
With all of the talk of expansion and schools being realigned and left out of conferences, what is the history of Independents in FCS football? I know SUU was Independent from their move-up to D1 until the Great West was formed. If we don't get invited to the Big Sky I would assume that would be som...

Re: Big Sky Expansion
Crazy idea for expansion...will never happen but fun to think about. Bring on the CAA jokes. Currently the Big Sky is at 9 all-sports members (including Montana) and soon-to-be 11 football-playing members. If Montana leaves, that gives the league an 8-10 arrangement. Why not then add San Diego, all ...

Re: any Southern Utah University insights?
Despite the record, SUU has had a pretty successful year thus far. Went on the road in Week 1 and played well at Wyoming; actually had a chance to tie the game at the end but a hail mary was caught just short of the goalline. Came home Week 2 and easily beat San Diego. Had SJSU beat on the road but ...

I suppose this could be posted on this topic or under the Big Sky expansion topic... http://www.suunews.com/news/2010/sep/08/gwc-movement-wont-ring-changes-football-plan/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Hope this happens...we are definitely making strides in the right direct...

Re: Big Sky expansion
I agree with everything you said NAU. From everything I have read and watched, the commissioner is predicting a "richer get richer" scheme, thus forcing schools to reevaluate and not so much drop down, but realign. I just hope SUU is part of the plan for the Big Sky and they are in place b...

Re: Big Sky expansion
Read a post over on AGS, and there it says that Montana, Sac St., and Portland St. could be getting a WAC invite in the very near future. If this happens, throw my idea out the window. Again, even though I am biased, I think SUU is as good as any program to add to the Big Sky. We are the only team b...

Re: JMU Bridgeforth Stadium construction webcam
What was the reason again that they are placing temporary bleachers at the front of the new addition rather than just complete the whole thing? The place looks great, good for JMU.

haha yes i understand what you mean. I don't really want a step-by-step. I just can't figure out how to alter the template once I am logged in.

Re: FCS Style - Nike Pro Combat Uniforms
The SUU one is unreal; I love it. Makes me dislike our current ones a lot now. Is it possible that someone could provide a step by step approach on how to create these? I have signed up for the site but cannot figure out how to create my own using the templates.

Re: FCS Style - Nike Pro Combat Uniforms
Would someone make one of these for SUU as well? I would love to but I am bad at this type thing. If someone will, please keep it simple; I'm tired of our Northwestern look.

Re: Now what with the Great West?
Agreed about San Diego...Would CP or UC-D consider leaving the Big West to Big Sky or invest a little more and just make the jump to WAC? Culturally and rivalry related, the 2 division Big Sky makes sense for me...probably because I am hoping big time for SUU to get into a more stable conference and...

Re: Now what with the Great West?
this only leaves one team in the West without a logical conference home, San Diego...with all of speculation that a Big Sky team could be the target of WAC expansion, is room made for them?

TXST Drive
Last time I was in San Marcos I loved the stadium. I especially like that both sides are 2-deck. The best part of it all has to be the endzone complex. However, the eyesore was the opposite endzone with the terrible locker room (if you wanna call it a locker room) and scoreboard...Have those been re...

Re: Future of FCS
I agree with you. I am not necessarily saying that Texas is going to the Big10. I ultimately don't think they will. I think the more likely situation is that Missouri goes to the Big10 over all of the other BigEast candidates (I don't think PennSt wants Pitt in their conference). I think Utah and Co...

Re: Future of FCS
According to reports, the Big10 and Texas have reached out to one another about possible expansion. With this said, one thing is for sure, the next 2-3 years are going to make college football change a lot IMO.

Re: Future of FCS
I still contend that, when the moratorium is lifted, the NCAA will re-mandate FBS requirements, and some teams will be forced to relocate to FCS, enforcement will become a thing of reality. The candidates are obvious: Utah State, NM State, Idaho, Kent State, Eastern Mich, Akron, half the SBC. To me...

Re: Future of FCS
I wonder if we are forgetting a team when discussing all of this FCS to FBS stuff, Southern Illinois. I know they have invested mega-millions in renovating the bball arena, building a new athletic facility, and built a brand new football stadium. Have they discussed moving up? I'm guessing potential...

Re: Future of FCS
I do not think there is going to be an all-out split in the big east. Your right, the BE loves basketball and they are going to continue to be arguably the best bball conference in the country. Instead of a split, I think you are going to see Depaul and Marquette eventually be moved out of the BE in...
