On Monday, we were on lockdown after a negligent discharge happened on base. That, of course, prompted a base-wide search for the gun. At first, we were told that it was at the Base Post Office, which was right across the street from my office (almost). Turns out that it was in a barracks at the other end of the block. The weapon in question was found, and the lockdown was lifted shortly after noon. The incident made national news (eventually).
But that wasn't the most interesting part of the goings-on that day. The search for the gun prompted a barracks search. In the course of the barracks search, a duck farm was found in a locker. The ducks were quacking and pooping in the locker. The bootleg cell-phone video is priceless.
