Bullshit. While I can agree with some of your premise, your execution is way off. White "Christians" (actuall American Citizens) have consistenetly spoken out about white extremist hate groups.....in the form of actually prosecuting & placing the perpetrators in prison. That's the difference. The disconnect seems to be that, while Americans are tolerant, they'll police their own citizens. And while self-professed Muslim governments are notoriously intolerant, they don't mind harboring...nay, celebrating murderers, as long as those murders were committed in the name of Allah or jihad. One needs to look no further than how America dealt with Mr. McVeigh and how Libya dealt with the Lockerbie bomber.....

You're right about too many governments harboring them, although I would counter with the fact that Yemen has very much cooperated with us in pursuing al-Qaeda there (the main reason we haven't sided with anti-government protesters there). BUT, there are plenty of moderate Muslims, in this country and around the world, who absolutely denounce the extremists who've hijacked their religion. There's just not a whole lot they can do, from a practical stand point, when their leaders aren't willing to do anything.

That's one government out of how many in the middle east who align their government with muslim values....and the only reason they're cracking down is, without US protection, they're on the streets (remember the Shah of Iran?). So it's in their interest of self-preservation to crack down on muslim extremists, not from any sense of moral outrage. And even with that, Yemen is now Al Queda central while we continue to fok off in Afshitistan & Iraq....
