Since this is a football board, how long before the Cigar Bowl is re-instated? :thumb: :thumb:
Well no kidding. Their children were born over here (or were brought over very young). They have no concept of what their parents had to suffer through.

My grandfather used to troll for tang down there. Told me all kinds of stories about the casinos and nightlife. I'd like to be able to walk in his footsteps sometime soon. :thumb:

Btw, Americans can visit now. Just can't get a direct flight.

Yeah…something like that. There's an Econolodge just up the street that would work well for you and Mrs. Ivy though.

The Davenport Hotel [2][3] is a hotel located in Spokane, Washington. Commissioned by a group of Spokane businessmen, the hotel is named after Louis Davenport, its first proprietor and overseer of the project. Architect Kirtland Cutter designed the building in 1914. The Davenport Hotel was the first hotel in the United States with air conditioning, a central vacuum system, pipe organ and dividing doors in the ballrooms. It is also the place at which the first Crab Louis (named after Louis Davenport) was created and served. The Davenport Hotel was completely restored by developer Walt Worthy in 2002. In January 2007 the Davenport Hotel opened its new 21 floor Davenport Tower with 328 additional hotel rooms. The Davenport Hotel is Spokane's only AAA four diamond hotel. The hotel is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Little too ornate for me. I prefer the "rustic majesty" look.

I appreciate the architecture, but I couldn't stomach staying indoors in Glacier. It's just not the same without the constant fear of being devoured by a bear.
