I’ve been saying it for months now…it’s all about team Brown. Get him on the ticket and at worst the Brown vote is split 50-50. We’re watching, don’t fvck this up conks.JoltinJoe wrote:The guy in the Republican field the Clinton camp fears most is Marco Rubio.
In head-to-head polling, Clinton comes out a few points ahead nationally.
When broken down, Rubio beats Clinton head-to-head in every battleground state.
In polling among those who claim "familiarity" with both candidates, Rubio leads (fairly significantly).
Rubio has substantially lower name recognition, but he is viewed far more favorably among those who claim "familiarity" with him than those who claim "familiarity" with Clinton. Rubio''s negatives are substantially lower than Clinton's (who has negatives over 50% in some polls).
Clinton's camp is going to try to define Rubio and drive up his negatives in the process. That's why Clinton went after Rubio in her post-debate comments.
Rubio can beat Clinton nationally, and the Clinton camp knows it.
A personal observation: Rubio is a lot sharper than Clinton.

Well you can't have it both ways. If Trump's numbers are indicative of the support for him, you can't say that Carson "has no shot". Difference being Carson doesn't have to spend 90% of his time trying to explain away all his verbal gaffes. Trump will fade to nothingness before the first primary is held.dbackjon wrote:That's a ringing endorsementAZGrizFan wrote:

So what you're saying is that for most Hispanics (like almist all blacks) the most important issue is skin color?SDHornet wrote:I’ve been saying it for months now…it’s all about team Brown. No, that is what the media will make of it. If we learned anything from 08 and 12 is that the race card always trumps the other cards played in a presidential race. Get with the program conks, don’t fvck this up.BDKJMU wrote:So what you're saying is that for most Hispanics (like almist all blacks) the most important issue is skin color?SDHornet wrote: I’ve been saying it for months now…it’s all about team Brown. 2) Rubio must be keeping the fact that he's a lot sharper than Clinton well hidden in anticipation of a big revealing at some future date. Did not impress at the "debate".

Re: Iowa Poll - Trump still leads, Fiorina vaults to 5th
My take away is the same it has been most of the times we have been polling for 2016.
The republican party may or may not realize that they are in a lot of trouble with people who typically vote republican. Candidates that aren't career politicians or have a real non-establishment resume. Trump, Carson, Fiorina, Cruz poll in the aggregate at 49%.
For better or worse, people prefer the non-politician blowhard to the politician blowing smoke up their ass.

Hillary Clinton is, frankly, one of the least impressive figures in public life. If she had not failed the DC Bar Exam, and then retreated to Arkansas to practice law and marry Bill Clinton, she would today be handling disorderly person cases in DC's Municipal Court.houndawg wrote:1) The one the Clinton camp fears most, R or D, is Sanders.JoltinJoe wrote:The guy in the Republican field the Clinton camp fears most is Marco Rubio.

Everything that comes out of her mouth is a liberal, talking-point cliche. Worse, she surrounds herself with mediocre intellects who have similarly sold-out any sense of principle in order to obtain power.
Meanwhile: William Howell, a political science professor at the University of Chicago, declared Rubio’s debate performance “cool, level-headed and sharp.”

Agreed on Hilary, but Rubio...meh. His highlight was the idea he couldn't be attacked by Hilary from a class warfare angle because he grew up poor.JoltinJoe wrote:Hillary Clinton is, frankly, one of the least impressive figures in public life. His top donors include The Club for Growth, Goldman Sachs, Koch Industries, and Elliot Managangement.
Not taking any chances and bashing Hilary is a good strategy for now although the new poll numbers don't show it.
I predicted awhile ago that Walker, Kasich, and Rubio are the three with the best chance. I'm just not sure Rubio comes off as adult or presidential enough.
William Howell is impressed by the bland.

That is absolutely fucking hilarious given the current 3rd grader occupying the White House. I've heard Marco Rubio speak in person twice. Each time for 45 - 60 minutes. Each time with no prepared notes. Each time without a teleprompter. Each time in a sit-down format being questioned by a newspaper reporter. And each time, he spoke intelligently about the topics, was sane, and uttered not ONE. SINGLE. UH.kalm wrote: I predicted awhile ago that Walker, Kasich, and Rubio are the three with the best chance. For a bunch of guys who admittedly don't put any stock in preseason football polls some of you seem to be all in on who's going to win the republican nomination.

I"m not "all in" on anybody right now. But some of the donk comments regarding various candidates border on the absurd...just attempting to correct the record.
