Just like Adams, Washington, Jefferson, etc... the leaders that seceded the states from the Union were traitors. Doesn't make any difference if they were fighting for the CSA.


Btw, 'traitor' isn't necessarily bad. As we all agree, the traitors that founded the country are revered.

Sure they are revered, they weren't largely motivated by the idea of preserving slavery. Sure, they kept slavery, but they didn't part ways with England for that purpose. It would be about 50 years later by the time England banned slavery altogether so it had virtually nothing to do with the American Revolution.

Heck, most of the largest political dramas of the first 50 years of our country, in some ways, revolved around slavery. That war is never fought (i.e. the South never seceedes) if not for slavery, no matter what other motivating factors where out there.

Slavery and it's aftermath has and will continue to be a problem for our country for generations to come. Removing a flag won't change that. Maybe it'll help the healing process.

I agree. There were certainly other issues. I don't see the South seceding if slavery was not an issue.
