Sure, you can even find pockets of beauty out west, but for the most part it's a barren wasteland (99% of Nevada, anyone?). You don't see any of the east coast states putting people in jail for using their garden hose. We don't get four year droughts.
-Green but lack of tall, dense trees in much the plains states with exceptions like the Blacks Hills.
-CO, UT, WY, ID, N CA, OR, WA plenty of Mtns and dense greenery.
Week & a half in UT last month and I saw plenty of greenery..
