I think all of you are being kind that the Nova-Tribe game will be that close. The Tribe for the second straight year cannot score enough. Unfortunately, the defense is not as dominant as it was last year. I am hoping we flashback to our offense from 10 years ago.

I remember the fun times from last year when a 5 loss Villanova, 5 loss Tribe, and potentially 5 loss Delaware were debating our weak playoff resumes. No such worries for NH or Villanova this year.

The Tribe was disappointing last week. Let's see what happens as the season moves on though. Lots of chances to prove their playoff worthiness along with the Hens. My brain tells me Nova scores 40 or more even though I have respect for W & M's Defense. So far, only Syracuse was able to slow Robertson down this year and the Syracuse people are still raving about JR. However, W & M seems to be a tough win for the Cats every year so we will see. Regardless of the outcome, the Tribe still has a good shot at the playoffs.

If so at 4-2/1-1 they are probably going to have to sweep UD and JMU to get in. By the time those games are played, they might not be favored in either..

Hens could beat the Tribe if Devine stops channeling 3 yards and a cloud of dust...along with limiting complete passes to 5 yards behind the LOS. :coffee:

I'm pretty sure it has something to do with the fact that we fucking suck.

Delaware's administration is in the process of quietly de-emphasizing the football program. If it still exists in ten years, it will be a Patriot/NEC type FCS program or D2/D3. Maybe we'll strike up an intrastate rivalry with Wesley College. Who knows.

What I do know is that I gave up my season tickets this offseason and doubt I'll ever attend another game. And I doubt the other 5,000 season ticket holders who left with me the past five years feel much different.

If you have followed the program closely since 2007, you would know that I am spot on.

No I did not watch the game. I do not follow UD live any more as I stated. I enjoyed a beautiful fall day on the Blue Ridge with my sons and look forward to many more autumn adventures, unencumbered by UD football. :thumb:

You should do like MaineJeff and get yourself a GoHens account and go on there and rattle cages. There are a few people who still care, though the apathy for the program is becoming increasingly widespread. We used to get mad at bad performances. Now we just laugh at how absurdly bad we've become. Somebody mentioned yesterday holding a mock wake for the program before the next home game.

'93's spot on. The actions by the administration back in '08 and '09 started the mass exodus of lifelong (often decades-long) fans and more importantly, the multiple generations families that were part of it. Season tickets that were 11k+ in 2008 end up being 6k today and likely going further. You can't charge $35/ticket/game at the FCS level, and then on top of it treat your fans like crap and regulate the fun out of the experience, and expect that to be a sustainable business, especially when FCS gets more and more watered down by teams moving up and DII teams stepping in. UD will never be what it used to be - there could be a blip increase in fans from time to time, but the days of multiple season with 22k sellouts for every game will never happen again. Maybe if they move to FBS that could bring fans in, but you just can't draw fans to FCS football consistently enough, and not in this area anymore, and UD will never get back the lifers that made UD football the special thing it was for so many years. RIP.

Uh oh UR..

"UR takes double-injury hit with Strauss, S. Barnette done

Michael Strauss and Stephen Barnette leave college football as two of the most accomplished players in University of Richmond history.

UR coach Danny Rocco said on Monday that Strauss, a senior quarterback who was expected to return from an ankle injury in a few weeks, will not be back in uniform this season. The injury was more extensive than originally believed. A ligament tear will require surgery.

"They went back and did a follow-up stress X-ray and this stress X-ray revealed a few things that were not able to be identified on the initial assessment," said Rocco.

Strauss last year set UR records for passing yards in a season (3,808), completions in a season (333) and TD passes in a season (26). Strauss was injured while making a tackle after an interception at Albany Oct. 11.

"Obviously Michael will be missed greatly," said Rocco. "We feel very badly for him and his family as they work through this process."

Strauss completed an FCS-leading 71.4 percent of his passes this season for 1,686 yards and 11 TDs. Michael Rocco, a redshirt senior, made his first UR start at quarterback in Saturday's 37-0 win over Rhode Island.

Barnette, a senior from Salem, suffered a season-ending knee injury during the win over Rhode Island.

Barnette ranks fourth on UR's career receptions list (197), second on the career receiving yards list (2,844), and tied for third on the career receiving touchdowns list (17).

"We're certainly going to miss Stephen, his leadership," said Rocco. "He's been an extremely productive player here during his career, and he was really enjoying an outstanding season prior to this setback."

Rocco added that he is hopeful that Barnette, a 6-foot-3, 196-pounder, can return to full strength in order to "pursue some of his dreams and aspirations."

Barnette was named second team All-CAA Football last season. He missed two games earlier this season with a foot injury."
