That's AWESOME

Dude needs to get some anger management and pay at the polls, but I can never quite condemn someone for putting some pencil necked 'reporter' in fear for his safety
Really? So on one hand we piss and moan about the media being lapdogs for the politicians, and as soon as one dares ask a question that's not set on a tee he gets threatened with bodily harm and you're ok with that?
I'm ok with it regardless, no matter what kinds of questions they're asking! And it doesnt just apply to when they are asking politicians questions. I'd like to see dudes get their asses kicked just doing man on the street interviews. That would make for GREAT YouTube

George Washington gave annual speeches to joint sessions of Congress... but, it just wasn't called "State of the Union"
According to the article where I learned it was Woodrow (http://www.usnews.com/opinion/blogs/rob ... -and-facts" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) most of the Presidents before Woodrow sent a written report to Congress in order to fulfill the Constitutional requirement that the President give the Congress information on the State of the Union from time to time. It says that Washington and Adams gave their reports orally but I really don't think it was the same kind of thing as Woodrow started. It says Washington gave the shortest State of the Union report of all at 1,089 words.

My guess is Washington gave his report orally because he preferred to do it that way, not because he was trying to engage in political theater. Wilson's the one, according to that article, that saw the political angle that lead to the excrutiating spectacle we have nowadays. So now you're sitting there in you hotel room on a Tuesday night trying to find stuff to watch and everywhere you turn there's a politician being a politician.

Well, not everywhere. But it's all over the place and it cuts down on your choices.
Well, I believe that I must tell the truth
And say things as they really are
But if I told the truth and nothing but the truth
Could I ever be a star?
