Worst Performance: Nicholls St. 7, (FBS) Louisiana-Lafayette 70 - Reality returns to Natchitoches as the Colonels, a week after beating a weak FBS, get wasted by another.
Most Surprising Result: (#13) McNeese St. 44, (DII) West Alabama 42 - I know the Southland has had more than its fair share of inexplicable struggles with DII teams over the years, but it's still pretty surprising for a top-15 team to allow a DII quarterback to put up a 231 efficiency rating.
Best Performance: (#6) South Dakota St. 34, Southeastern Louisiana 26 - Zach Zenner does what he does, putting up 188 total yards and 3 touchdowns in an unexpectedly tough win.
Worst Performance: (#18) Illinois St. 24, (#9) Eastern Illinois St. 57 - I suspected ISU's ranking was hollow, but I didn't think it was so hollow that they would allow 739 yards to Garoppolo & co.
Most Surprising Result: (#6) South Dakota St. 34, Southeastern Louisiana 26 - The Jackrabbits being 3-0 isn't surprising, but it is of some concern that they're allowing 412 ypg on defense.

Once again, I wish I could smack you for this, Venus, but you're actually being NICE here. We deserve worse than what you provide. Outside of maybe Valpo, we turned in what has to be considered the worst performance out there, particularly for a team that actually won a game....
SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.
I don't know why everyone is so surprised by the SDSU vs SLU matchup. SLU is a great football team, with a very athletic, mobile QB. Also, UND during the 4th quarter, basically was Hail Mary City with some great receivers. Our Defense has forced 12 turnovers, we are very good in the trenches, we have an outstanding RB, and our QB doesn't make dumb decisions.
