Depends on how you define liberal...or progressive. Conks are much better at the label war and turning "liberal" into a pejorative all those years ago was a stroke of genius.

I agree that progressive has been used as a form of re-branding. But this is the whole problem with labels. They can be misleading and confusing. Case in point, some people like to label Obama as a "progressive"...

I like limited government. I also think government is highly necessary and does some things well...things the private sector shouldn't be doing.

Suffering under the yoke of local, state, and federal regulations on a daily basis while running my business is a giant pain in the ass and much of it is unnecessary...to me. Minimum wage increases, which seem to happen on a yearly basis now in WA State ($9.19) hurt my bottom line and often prevents me from doing things like capital improvements or increasing the pay of my long term workers...etc.

That being, said, I like safe food, clean air and water, spending money in the pockets of the hoi poloi, and a stable banking sector.

I'm pro environment which, if you think about it should be a conservative notion...as the word "conservative" is closely related to the word "conservation". I'm fairly isolationist when it comes to foreign policy and the war on terror so Uncle Pat and I see to eye to eye.

I guess that's me...wishy washy assed liberal with conservative streaks.
