You are very misinformed.

The 2012 season television schedule by conference:

The MAC : 12 national broadcasts, 19 regional broadcasts
http://mattsarzsports.com/Football2012/MAC

The Sun Belt : 8 national broadcasts, 11 regional broadcasts
http://mattsarzsports.com/Football2012/SunBelt

The WAC: 4 national broadcasts, 18 regional broadcasts
http://mattsarzsports.com/Football2012/WAC

CUSA : 17 national broadcasts, 26 secondary national broadcasts, 20 regional broadcasts
http://mattsarzsports.com/Football2012/CUSA

I would say that's a substantial bit more coverage than "a little, if any"

Reports of the coming demise of the FCS are much exaggerated :coffee:
On December 12, 1775 the Continental Congress created a Battalion of minuteman from the three counties in Delaware. Kent county militia were fans and owners of Game Cocks; Fight'n Blue Hens as they were called. The Fight'n Blue Hens became known far and wide as the very best Fighting Game Cocks around. Thus, the Blue Hen was established.

Illinois State was one of those listed... and, it's not a surprise that they were contacted nor a surprise that they're not ready to move to FBS.
Rather than say "not ready" I'd say "they have enough sense." Moving to FBS is a money losing proposition. Overwhelming likelihood is that Appalachian State and Georgia Southern are going to lose money by going to FBS. They'll count money the school kicks in the balance the books as "revenue" just like the other small FBS programs do in order to make it look like they're breaking even or at least getting close. But the move is almost certainly going to cost the schools money. A lot of money.

On the coverage issue: If you're losing more money, I don't see why that is viewed as a benefit.

Misinformed, as usual.

App State cannot just "kick in" money to balance the books--it's illegal in NC. I'm guessing you don't have a 401k, or another investment-based retirement fund, as it's costs money to generate "revenue." Am I right?

Second, the overwhelming amount of FCS schools lose money. Of course, I'm sure an anonymous message board poster is better positioned to determine App State's future than the actual App State administration. If only they had consulted SuperHornet's better half--JohnStOnge. :dunce:
