I think it's absolutely absurd to be even talking about "marriage" encompassing two members of the same sex. But that in itself isn't my issue with homosexuality.
My issue is more "global." To me it's a classic example of egalitarianism corrupting rational thought starting with the process that led the American Psychiatric Association removing homosexuality from its Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders. A body of practitioners of science...or pseudo science...cast objectivity aside in order to promote egaltiarianism. They declared that people who are obviously sick are not sick.
And it went from there. Then we went into decades of indoctrination of young people in schools and such. There was no defense because the experts had spoken. Never mind that the objectivity of the experts had been compromised by their philosophical orientation.
If people believe "the experts" when it comes to homosexuality...if they believe that having a preference for members of your own sex is not disfunctional because "the experts say so"...they will believe anything. They have cast their own critical thinking ability away. As I've said before, it reminds me of the story of The Emperor's New Clothes. People have been told what the "enlightened" view is. So they have adopted it. Never mind that it is obviously a crock.

Holy shit Klean.mrklean wrote:JohnStOnge wrote:
Sometimes I pay attention and sometimes I don't. But I've paid attention enough to know they don't typically preach hatred. Some may. But none that I've been to. I've never heard any of the preachers preach that homosexuals are not "equal." They preach that homosexual behavior is sinful.
This is the gist of what I get from listening to them: We are all equal in that none of us deserve salvation. All of us are sinners and there is no way we can every "earn" salvation through our "works." Jesus Christ died on the cross to redeem all of us so that we can have the salvation; which I think is going to heaven. But if you follow Jesus Christ you're going to at least try to avoid certain things. And one of them is homosexual behavior.
And of COURSE they believe that marriage is between one man and one woman.

Everybody takes many things on faith. Like look at all the people who don't realize that homosexuality is sick just because that's what those dominating the fields of psychiatry and psychology say. They have faith in the "scientists." So they believe what they say and even proudly parrot it in order to show how enlightened they are when it's obviously nonsense. They're Christians John. By definition they're gullible and prone to believing nonsense.
Just like in the Emperor's New Clothes fable.
Well, I believe that I must tell the truth
And say things as they really are
But if I told the truth and nothing but the truth
Could I ever be a star?

And say things as they really are

This is exactly what Nietzche was getting at - christianity creates dependent and weak people. Sure enough, Hitler, Mao and Stalin proved him to be right.houndawg wrote:They're Christians John. By definition they're gullible and prone to believing nonsense.JohnStOnge wrote:

There is nothing better for a tyrant than a populace trained to believe nonsense. It's no wonder, the world greatest tyrants and abominal social theories were birthed and flourished in christian nations.
