I don't get it. They're one of the few government departments that actually serve a purpose. What's the point of the continuous harassment and asking of the same questions?SDHornet wrote:One of the few videos that you posted that I actually watched. My favorite one was the last guy.

Yup. If those check points were legit those folks wouldn't be able to just drive right through without giving the Feds what they want.CitadelGrad wrote:Perhaps you've heard of the 4th Amendment.AZGrizFan wrote:

At the Ports Of Entry (POEs) (border crosssings at the Mexican & Canadian borders, customs after arriving on an international flight, customs at sea ports) you do have to produce a passport.
At these immigration checkpoints within a hundred miles of the border:
-If you are here on a visa or a green card you are supposed to have them on you and you HAVE to produce them.
-USC do not have to produce "papers" because, outside of a U.S. passport, naturalization certificate, or birth certificate, none exists. The Border Patrol does not expect USC to routinely carry any of those documents. You can either:
*state in about 5 words "I'm a US citizen" and be on your merry way
*or you can go through the song and dance like the filmer of the video did and hope that if you refuse to answer the question, refuse to move your vehicle to secondary, that as traffic backs up behind you they'll eventually wave you through (we don't know how long he sat there at some of the checkpoints because the videos were edited) as oppose to jerking your a** out of the car and cuffing you.

The ones at the end of the video aren't cops- not sure if they were Agriculture inspectors. I know when I was out in Hawaii last yr you have to go through agriculture in addition to regular security before getting on a plane to the mainland. You could refuse, but then your a** ain't getting on the plane. There's stuff you can't bring from the mainland to hawaii and vice-versa.

Re: Top DHS checkpoint refusals - Great Video
Was in AZ a couple of yrs ago with the gf and went through a couple of checkpoints. As I approached I raised my sunglasses, rolled down my window and said "How's it going?" and both times they just waved me through with a "have a nice day" without even asking about citizenship.

It's an ag checkpoint on the AZ-CA border. It's usually closed when I roll through it. Another powerless stop by the powers that be.BDKJMU wrote:The ones at the end of the video aren't cops- not sure if they were Agriculture inspectors. Once or twice it didn't show what happened- we don't know if he was waived through or not.SDHornet wrote:So legit they let people stroll on though.BDKJMU wrote:

The other times when they were allowed to roll through maybe they'd been there for awhile, traffic was backing up behind the car, they were obviously weren't illegals from South of the Border. Maybe they ran the K-9 around the car for illegals & drugs with negative results. Maybe they they didn't feel like yanking the guy out of the car, cuffing him, and doing all the arrest paperwork, plus having people in cars lined up behind them filming it, when they were 99% sure he wasn't an illegal or smuggling dope. Who the f knows.
I'm sure you could try the same thing and you might get waived through. Or you could have happen to you what happened to this guy:

The guy trying to play jailhouse lawyer is an idiot. He's trying to claim that something is unconstitutional that SCOTUS has long held constitutional, regardless if they waived him through a few times. It takes 2 seconds to utter the words "US Citizen".

We don’t know that since they never answered the question but you are probably right; most illegal’s just mutter “US Citizen” when they go through these things and the Fed sends them on their way.BDKJMU wrote:Once or twice it didn't show what happened- we don't know if he was waived through or not.SDHornet wrote: So legit they let people stroll on though.
