What the heck does one ignoramus candidate have to do with the party as a whole, Gannon? For every GOP idiot, there's at least one Democratic analogue. You can't have your cake and eat it, too.

Because most people think they're wrong. :coffee:
In regard to the gay marriage issue, not the majority of voters in 30 of 34 states.

Also, as Republicans become totally unhinged, the crescendo of blaming and hating from both the media and in congress is off the charts. How many presidents have had a house member cry out "you lie" during a speech? Speaking of which, I wonder what the congressional approval rating is these days...ya think there's a correlation?

Funny thing is, Republicans don't and probably can't complain about the **** that really matters like military spending and intervention, the surveillance state, prosecution of financial crimes banking reform, the War on Drugs. Viva Obushma! :ohno:
Funny, Republicans were accused of becoming unhinged in 09' by the left after Obama won the 08' election, along with a near supermajority in Congress, and how'd that work out for the Republicans in the 2010 midterms?
Good point. I think you can make the inevitability of mid-term elections argument. Then again, the Tea Party really did have some potential to become a revolution...even a positive one. But the far right fucked it up by running bat shit crazy ideologues like Allen West that were bound to turn off independents in the long run. De-couple social conservatives from honest efforts toward fiscal conservatism and you get the libertarian party. That's the direction the Republican party really needs to be heading in.

Maybe a sleight majority of America, but so far not the majority of registered voters who bother to show up at the polls.

Both conks and donks have had their share of wingnuts running for office.

Obama won a landslide election in 08', as did the donks in Congress, gaining 21 seats in House and a whopping 8 Senate seats, expanding their majorities to a near supermajory (and briefly had a supermajority after turncoat Spector & before special election in Mass where Brown was elected). The pendulum definitely swung big time the donks way in 08'.

In 2010 the pendulum took an even bigger swing back to Republicans. Conks "gained 63 seats in the U.S. House of Representatives, recapturing the majority, and making it the largest seat change since 1948 and the largest for any midterm election since the 1938 midterm elections. The Republicans gained six seats in the U.S. Senate, expanding its minority, and also gained 680 seats in state legislative races, to break the previous majority record of 628 set by Democrats in the post-Watergate elections of 1974.This left Republicans in control of 25 state legislatures, compared to the 15 still controlled by Democrats. After the election, Republicans took control of 29 of the 50 State Governorships."(wiki)
Obama grossly over reached 2009-2010 with a number of things, including with spending and Obamacare that a majority didn't want, and he got his pecker slapped in the 2010 mid terms.

The pendulum swung back the donks way in 2012, but not as big as 08'.
-Obama got 51% of the vote compared to 53% in 08'.
-Donks picked up 6 seats in the House compared to 21 in 08'.
-Donks picked up 2 seats in the Senate, compared to 8 08'.

Obama 2013-2014 is going to over reach again, just like he did 2009-2010, (heck, he already is over reaching) and the donks will take a beating again in the mid terms (as of now in Senate 23 donk seats and 10 conk seats up for re election). I'll make a wager now that conks will make gains in both houses in 2014.

At least 55%.

Wait till the boomers die off. It will be about 70% in favor by 2020.

Besides, it won't be a national issue anymore in a few months when the Supreme Courts overturns DOMA.

I live in a state with equal marriage rights and I'm happy to live here.

Link? I saw a list of 2012' polls, and they all showed anwhere from 48%-54%. But polls, and results of people who are registered and bother to vote = apples to oranges. + there is the Bradly effect. Heck, as late as last May, North Carolina, a state that went for Obama, also approved a Constitutional amendment to keep marriage between a man and woman by an overwhelming 61-39. In most states they've been approved by overwhelming double digit #s:

You're delusional if you think in 7 years there will be 70% support.

I also live in a state with equal marriage rights and I'm happy to live here.
