I'm not a gun guy, but I'm not anti-gun either.
But I am struggling to find a reason to not ban "military-style assault weapons and high-capacity ammunition feeding devices". I can appreciate the thrill of shooting these guns at a range. Seriously, can someone give me some talking points as to why they should remain legal? I understand, and support, the argument that people kill, not guns. But I don't have an answer to the fact that "more" people can be killed in a shorter period of time with these type of guns. Other than the entertainment value, the only thing I can come up with is more firepower in self defense.

Defense from a government that would conspire with the media to take guns the way Feinc*nt is trying to do.

Face it if our military has similar weapons so should the people of this country.

Agreed. Banning weapons that have nothing to do with the issue is over the top. Reigniting the gun control debate to further the liberal agenda when the real issue is mental health advocacy is over the top. According to the police foundation there are 192 million firearms in private possession. Others think that number is about 50 million low. There simply ain't no way to collect that many guns, that many anything, even if they knew where they were. Way too much overtime involved. My answer is this...with a little practice and a commonly available pouch like a messenger bag, I can pack about 20 five round magazines..

When I open fire, everyone ducks...I fire 5 rounds...in the time you realize I have stopped to reload, I have completed my reload and I'm either firing again or I waiting for you to pop your head up and give me a target...

I'm willing to prove this to you...SAFELY... If you want to see it...

There is no "bill" that is going to solve that problem that doesn't address mental health. I have a Springfield Armory 9mm, with a magazine that holds 19 rounds. I can put four more magazines in my back pocket meaning I can carry almost 100 rounds of ammunition AND the weapon undetected. I can empty a 19-round magazine in about 30 seconds fairly accurately and change magazines in less than 5 seconds. Thus, I could fire almost 100 rounds of ammo in less than 3 minutes.

The toothpaste is out of the tube. There's no getting it back INTO the tube. They need to address two major issues:

1) mental health care in this country
2) the media's need to make these assholes famous

Sportscasts stopped showing streakers so as not to give them any "attention" and encourage their behavior. These sick bastards get hours, days, even WEEKS of news coverage after their actions, their names are known nation-wide...until we get over our sick need to know every twisted detail of these fucks' lives, this will get MORE, not less frequent.
