However, big sky teams usually struggle with teams from the southland conf.
Not really. The Big Sky has a definite edge in the overall playoff matchup series. And especially when the Big Sky is at home. Of course most of that is Montana.

Anyway, I'm sure if someone were to look up the overall record of Southland teams playing on the road against Big Sky teams in the playoffs it's very bad. Very. Take Montana out maybe not so much so.
Well, I believe that I must tell the truth
And say things as they really are
But if I told the truth and nothing but the truth
Could I ever be a star?

What should SHSU take heart from? Cal Poly is a good team, but they're not on par with either EWU or MSU. How exactly do you suppose SHSU should feel coming up to Montana to play an MSU team with a healthy defense and a totally new offensive scheme?
Last year's experience should have given them the confidence to play anywhere and against anyone. I'm favoring the Bobcats, but I think SHSU will be a tough out.

Cal Poly is Co-Champions with MSU and EWU and matched up well with SHSU. Who knows if MSU will? They certainly did not last year and SHSU returns 18 starters off that team including Bell, Flanders and Sincere. All of which hurt MSU last year in the playoffs. BTW, MSU is not on par with EWU who beat MSU in Bozeman. Just saying...
