Clint Eastwood's RNC Obama chair gets own Twitter account
You know that wooden chair Clint Eastwood was talking to during tonight's speech at the Republican National Convention? It already has its own Twitter account. At least two actually.
For those who might have missed it (but expect to hear plenty about it during upcoming RNC post-mortems), the iconic action actor spent part of his moment in the convention spotlight chatting (transcript) with an empty chair that was supposed to represent President Obama. And if presidents can have their own Twitter accounts, why can't chairs that are standing in as presidents?
Invisible Obama (bio: Stage left of Clint Eastwood) sent out its first Tweet at about 6:20 p.m. PT. It's been busy tweeting since: "The GOP built me." "When Mitt Romney says 'Mr. Chairman', do you think he's referring to me?"

Jeez it was painful. He's still my hero but reminded me of the decline of a close family member. Sad.

Zell Miller's de-balling of John Kerry from the 2004 RNC is STILL the speech! :thumb: :thumb:

I miss Zell Miller, it is a real shame that Democrats have become so intolerant of those ideas aren't hard left that they have no room for moderates and conservatives.

You do realize that there is FAR more diversity of opinion in the Democratic Party than in the Republcan?

There are still dozens of Blue Dog Democratic Senators and Representatives in Congress, while the Republican Party is busy purging anyone that is to the left of Reagan. Hell, Reagan today would be derided as a liberal by today's Tea Party Republicans.

Jeez jon, just look at the leaders of your party. Pelosi, Reid, and the trained poodle are about as radical far left wing as you can get.

Dozens? Really?

On election night 2010, your buddies at Kos had a running tally and throwing a party every time one of the Blue Dogs went down in defeat. Pelosi and Reid haven't had a 2nd though about sticking a shank in the back of any Blue Dog who dares to question them.

By Obama's own admission, he stated that if he couldn't fix the economy in 3 years he didn't deserve another term.

I doubt we'll be hearing him reprise this during the DNC in Charlotte this week.

Edit: It's amazing to see how dark his hair was then and what the presidency does to a guy. Happened to Clinton and Bush pretty quickly too IIRC.

That was very difficult to watch. I expected him to do a bit better, and especially to do something semi-coherent.

Let's face it Donks. You guys don't know shit about jobs and the economy, and Obama is a poor excuse for a "leader".
If you were looking to hire a leader for your business and a guy with Obama's 2008 resume applied, would you hire him? Hell no you wouldn't. But many Americans did. :ohno: :ohno:

Did you vote fore McCain? How many jobs did he create? How many businesses did he run? If you want to say that Obama doesn't have good leadership skills, fine. But a good businessman doesn't neccessarily make a good POTUS.

How was it not accurate? What part of Bush's 2000 resume impressed you? His only qualification was his name.

That sounds clever, but really doesn't hold up to scrutiny. When you drive to work, do you look for the traffic jam? Do you intentionally drive the long way?

Yes. I believe McCain has better leadership skills, probably derived from his military career. :coffee:

But after all was said and done, did I think Obama was going to be this bad? No. And I'll bet most of the people that put any thought into a vote for him didn't think he was going to be this bad.

All I'm saying is that he was given a shot. It did not work out. Time for a new direction.
Maybe it didn't work out because of the combination with Pelosi, Frank and Reid. But those three aren't going away soon enough.

Nice change of direction ploy. I am so glad you told me that life is more complicated than a Chinese fortune cookie. I am now really enlightened, still registered as a Democrat and voting for Republicans...
