Glenn Reynolds reported the defacement of Love’s Wikipedia page last night.

I have noticed that since I opened my page to 'friends of friends' the overall 'tone' has descended markedly. Aggressive and rude self-opinionated posts have been left like dog turds on the pavement outside my front door (as it were !!). Let me be perfectly clear here. You are more than welcome to your odious opinions BUT I am beginning to resent your inflicting them on me...and my friends. This is NOT a forum for rascists, fascists, right wing zealots, the drug-deranged OR the just plain deranged- if you feel the need to 'vent' then go find somewhere ELSE to do it. If your values are liberal, progressive and life-affirmative then you are my kind of people and you are welcome here - should you be of some other persuasion then kindly move on and find a place where you can express yourself. May all beings be happy - one love

Yahoo News has fired Washington bureau chief David Chalian after he was caught on a hot-mic during an online video broadcast today saying that Mitt Romney and his wife, Ann, had no problem with African Americans suffering as a result of Hurricane Isaac, a source familiar with the situation tells POLITICO.

"They're not concerned at all. They're happy to have a party with black people drowning," Chalian said over a break during the ABC News/Yahoo News webcast, in reference to the fact that the GOP convention in Tampa is taking place as Hurricane Isaac makes landfall on the north Gulf coast.

UPDATE (1:30 p.m.): Yahoo News confirms:

"David Chalian's statement was inappropriate and does not represent the views of Yahoo!. He has been terminated effective immediately. We have already reached out to the Romney campaign, and we apologize to Mitt Romney, his staff, their supporters and anyone who was offended."

Apparently, PBS’s Gwen Ifill is running severely short on common sense. Shortly after the news of Chalian’s firing broke, Ifill coughed up a treacly Twitter hairball and expressed her support for “God’s gift to political journalism”
