Right. No welshing if the EC winner loses the popular vote.

No, sir. I've probably already exceeded my self-imposed budget for political bets for the year.

In Ohio, which is a must-win state for Romney, Obama’s hefty lead is based on his strong support among women, blacks, and independents. According to Quinnipiac, the gender gap is a stunning fifteen points. Among female voters, Obama leads Romney fifty per cent to thirty-five per cent. He is also doing a good job of attracting support from independents, where he leads by nine points. These are alarming figures for Romney. If he loses Ohio, the electoral-college math becomes forbidding. Obama’s support among Ohio women and independents is so strong that it almost makes up for his chronic weakness among white men, which has always been his biggest vulnerability. Among white voters of both sexes, he is now trailing Romney by just four points: forty-five per cent to forty-one per cent.

Polls show clearly that only one out of six respondents said they "liked" Mitt Romney.

The caveats are all over the place, what if gas went past four dollars, what if the economy worsens, another war in the middle east, yada, yada....

Bottom line is, that if only 17% of voters can actually say they like Mitt Romney as a candidate, then just how badly does things have to go for the current administration for folks to say well, we are voting for Mitt even though we do not like him?

I am going to go ahead an mention the fact that Romney has offered absolutely no alternatives to the policies of the Obama administration that he is so vehemently criticizing, on the economy, illegal immigration, foreign policy, or anything else for that matter. All he has done as try to hold himself out as an economic expert who has lead a life of job creating. Oh I know that is just plenty good enough for the "anybody but Obama" and the partisan Republican robots, but that is still only about 30% of the voting populace.

When reality meets rhetoric later this fall, Romney might well be one of the biggest losers in recent Presidential election history. Again, over by cocktail hour west coast time on election day.

It's a compilation of a shit ton of polls. All with different margins of errors.

You can click around on realclearpolitics if you want to find out more about the polls though (except rasmussen... you have to pay him to look at his data  )...

Yeah, I saw that. My thing, with a margin of error that is conservative, +/- 4 points (which I think we can agree on), it isn't a a shoe in for either guy.

No i mean your sister. Not the dumb one but the gullible one with the gap in her teeth and the eyes a little too close together.

That's how you say something funny SK. You're at the big table with the grownups so bring something funny or keep your a$$ in your seat and try not to be conspicuous.

Please list the Reagan/Bush II policies and ideas that Obama has crashed and burned with. It would also be great if you could distinguish between those that he chose to continue (Patriot Act) and those that he was "saddled with" (TARP - but for the record I consider TARP a necessary evil and a Bush success).

It would also be nice if the Obama supporters on this board could list his successes (and IMO, Obamacare can be considered a policy success until we can measure the long-term ramifications).
Being wrong about a topic is called post partisanism - kalm

MAQA - putting the Q into qrazy qanon qult qonspiracy theories since 2015.

It will probably be difficult for MAQA yahoos to overcome the Qult programming but they should give being rational & reasonable a try.

Thank you for your attention to this matter - UNI88

Well I was being somewhat tongue in cheek but for starters failing to truly regulate financial services...continuing trickle down theory.

You can make a case that he needed to stabilize things and trust the banks to do so, and perhaps in the long term we slowly work out of it. But there's also the concern that he's simply re-inflated the bubble economy and we are set up for another, perhaps deeper fall.
