was UNI somewhere in the thread title because I must have missed it.

Clenz has been posting all over CS.com about UNI beating ODU and yet he keeps on saying its not aimed at the "cool ODU fans"....

Anyway congrats Delaware on winning the men's soccer championship. While I was disappointed the next priority is making the NCAA Tournament which I believe ODU is a lock for.

Personally, I can stand losing to Delaware a lot more than losing to James Madison. Losing to JMU in the Champ. Game would have really ruined my day. I should probably be careful though because razor is probably lurking somewhere to come out at any time and call me out. If losing to Delaware potentially means winning NCAA tournament games, I guess I'll take it. We'll just wait and see. FWIW, college soccer experts and I know there are probably not many out there believe the CAA is one of the better college soccer conferences in the country. The CAA is probably gonna send 4 teams (ODU, Delaware, James Madison, Georgia State), while an additional two (VCU and William & Mary) are on the bubble.

Yeah, I mean, UD won back to back conference championships in men's basketball when I attended and while it was sort of novel to be in the NCAA tourney, it was nothing like football playoffs. I remember our battles with Marshall far more than I even remember who we played in the basketball tourney. I know it was Louisville one year and I forget the other.

Thats because delaware basketball sucks dick. Going to the ncaa tournament as a 16 seed and losing by 50 isnt going to be too exciting.

UD basketball has to get to the NCAA's for that to happen....when was the last time that happened?

The 1990-91 and 1991-92 teams went a combined 49-12, won back-to-back North Atlantic Conference championships and earned berths in the NCAA Division I national championship tournament. The first year in the NCAA tournament, the Hens lost 85-47 to the University of Cincinnati and the second year they fell 76-70 to the University of Louisville.

ike Steinwedel, Brey took consecutive teams to the NCAA tournament after America East Conference championships in 1997-98 and 1998-99. Those teams went a combined 46-15, with the first falling 95-56 to Purdue University in the NCAA tournament and the second 62-52 to the University of Tennessee.

Average loss of 23 points

Also looks like they have a sub .500 historical record.

89, you have to remember that you're dealing with two schools who have never beaten us in football. In the case of UNI, a team we regularly call our bitch in the playoffs. Only thing to hang our hat on? I believe ODU's football team is heading to the playoffs, while Delaware's football team looks like it will be hitting the offseason program starting next monday.

Also why do you say have no shot at winning a national championship? Didn't ODU make it to the NCAA Tournament the last two years? Don't VCU and Mason have Final Four appearances? I'm in no way comparing any of the three to Butler but I believe they are a mid major who played for the National Championship the last two years. I like to think ODU Fans have a lot more to hang their hats on then Delaware fans. Heck, even you'll guys admit that other than football you guys really don't care a whole lot about anything else so why criticize ODU fans for being fans of ODU Sports in general? Last time I checked our baseball team made it to the CAA Championship Game last year and will only be better this year, our men's basketball team is defending back-2-back CAA champions, our wrestling team is nationally ranked on an annual basis, ODU Men's soccer is heading to the NCAA tournament for the 8th time in 10 years....you guys are sort of hypocritical when many of you say "oh the only thing we care about is Delaware football and nothing else", "oh when I donate to Delaware athletics, I check off 'football only' on my donation form", etc. and yet you're really gonna say ODU fans only have basketball to hang their hat on?
