Well, the Phils beat up on the Cards' bullpen last night. I hope they saved some runs for Lee today!

Gotta love it - Larussa out-manages himself last night.

Batista couldn't throw a strike in the 8th. Holy hell did that guy melt down. I felt bad for him watching it.GannonFan wrote:Gotta love it - Larussa out-manages himself last night.
The St. Louis crowd is a different beast. They gave him a Bronx cheer when he finally did throw a strike, but oddly did not boo him when Larussa gave him the hook.

The Phillies scored 10 runs on 11 hits, all 11 hits were singles.

Sounds like a pretty good state to be in, provided you change that to a lowercase 'b'.Ivytalk wrote:That's because they were all comatose on brats and Bud!93henfan wrote:

St. Louis: Lohse (7-3, 2.88 ERA)

Lee has been pitching a lot better in his last three starts. Lohse is a former Phil, so that may provide some motivation. We'll see.ODUalum11 wrote:Definitely going to try and watch the game tonight....

should be a great pitching match-up. I always like to see a good pitcher's duel.93henfan wrote:Lee has been pitching a lot better in his last three starts. Lohse is a former Phil, so that may provide some motivation. We'll see.ODUalum11 wrote:Definitely going to try and watch the game tonight....

And the Phils have ZERO left on base, courtesy of hitting into 4 DPs. Still scored 4 runs. Now that's efficiency!ODUalum11 wrote:Phillies win 4-0 and Cliff Lee gets his 2nd consecutive complete game shutout.

don't need many runs when you got Lee on the mound.Ivytalk wrote:And the Phils have ZERO left on base, courtesy of hitting into 4 DPs. Still scored 4 runs. Now that's efficiency!ODUalum11 wrote:Phillies win 4-0 and Cliff Lee gets his 2nd consecutive complete game shutout.

What's with Oswalt? He's become the Weakest Link!

He only went two and left with "back spasms". The Phils knew about his back issues when they signed him and now it looks like his back is collecting.Ivytalk wrote:What's with Oswalt? He's become the Weakest Link!
Oh well. We'll just have to get by with Halladay, Hamels, and Lee somehow.

No worries - it's just that we'll see how we were going to be in 2012 since Oswalt's option was never going to be picked up anyways. Plus now we get extended looks at Worley and Kendrick in starting roles. But yes, only 3 top line aces - it's going to be tough sledding from here.93henfan wrote:He only went two and left with "back spasms". Philadelphia Phillies right-hander Roy Oswalt will be further examined Friday, a day after leaving a start with back trouble in the second inning.
Though Oswalt said after the game Thursday he wouldn't have an MRI until Monday, Phillies general manager Ruben Amaro Jr. told ESPN.com's Jayson Stark he would be checked out Friday and that the team expects to get an update on his condition Friday night or Saturday.
Re: Phillies Parade
Francisco with the walk-off single, bouncing one over the third baseman who was playing in. Phils go 53 outs before scoring and still win. Worley went six strong and Stutes had a great 9th.
A win is a win is a win I guess. Hope the offense can get it going again.
Suck it A's. That's what you get for leaving Philly!

Where's the goddam offense?? Good effort by Hamels wasted. Phillies can't hit these unknown pitchers. Scheit!
