Re: FCS Players in the Senior Bowl
.Nathan Brown/QB/Central Arkansas: The small-school passer has struggled so far and done nothing to improve his status in the eyes of NFL decision makers. Brown throws with a three-quarter delivery and the result is poor accuracy and passes that scatter. His inability to throw the deep pass Tuesday resulted in a number of receivers slowing up in their routes and waiting for the ball to arrive
Good find, CM

Liberty's Rashad Jennings was a Day 1 riser:
Rashad Jennings/RB/Liberty: Jennings is the top small school player in Mobile this week and proved as much in Day 1. His 234-pound frame looked impressive this morning during weigh-ins, then Jennings looked athletic and fast on the field at practice. He has a burst through the hole and looks frighteningly powerful running in the open field. Jennings also caught the ball well and stood out in blocking drills.

I think Sidbury has got a real shot. I hope he plays well. I am still surprised that none of the three Griz O-Lineman got an invite. They were supposed to be real NFL prospects.

Word has it that Barden is not impressing anyone at the workouts.
On some scout sites (subscriptions required) the word is: he is a shoe string tackle, runs poor routes, drops everything.
Me thinks they missed out not inviting Cam Luke to one of these

I will make a friendly wager that Ramses goes in the third round round or higher with you?CatMom wrote:Word has it that Barden is not impressing anyone at the workouts.

Hey, I didn't make this up, just reporting here, and I've no doubt he will make it. I did see him play, if you recall.
Re: FCS Players in the Senior Bowl
That is why I said friendly wager. I have seen other reports that say he is one of the players that is moving up some teams draft boards. And yes you did see him play in his Jr year. I do not rember exact stats, but I do know that he went for over 200 yards in that game.CatMom wrote:Hey, I didn't make this up, just reporting here, and I've no doubt he will make it. I also agree that it would have been nice to see the TxSt WR in the Senior Bowl. He is a very talented receiver.

Right, Barden was 8/207 2 TD in that game. They hadn't figured out how good Luke was going to be yet.
And that report is from the Senior Bowl, which I think means very little for the draft anyway. They've been watching these guys for more than just these practices. I don't take alot of stock in them
(Although I am in agreement about what I heard about Bomar. I still think he is highly overrated.)

Well with the way all of these top prospect SEC O-linemen have been playing, I wouldn't be surprised to see their Draft stock fall and these FCS/Griz O-linemen stock rise. I didn't realize the Griz were losing three O-linemen, how's are the back ups/recruiting prospects looking?

Re: FCS Players in the Senior Bowl
The Griz O-line has a couple of backups that should be ready to step in quite ably for the interior linemen, all the tight ends are returning, and they signed 5 mammoth high-school kids last year (the smallest being 6'5" 275 lbs.). Should be interesting to see how they progress this off-season.JMU DJ wrote:putter wrote:I think Sidbury has got a real shot. I hope he plays well. The major variable, however, is the new o-line coach. Pete Kaligis is leaving for Wyoming, and it appears as though Chad Germer will be returning as his replacement. I am not familiar with Germer, but the posters on eGriz seem pretty excited he is returning.
