If you're going to go out on a limb, why not go all the way?

I, being a fan of a school that isn't in the least bit forward thinking, am jealous of a school that has an administration willing to say their goals are, no matter how unrealistic they may appear at this moment.
Coastals goal is the SoCon but I have heard Big East is a goal of theirs as well. Maybe we are wanting SoCon for football and Big East for everthing else. I think it would be stupid because baseball is the only sport we could be competitive in.

So if KSU announces their plans for football today, do they have a conference yet or is that something to find in the future?

I guess we'll have to tune into find out.

In this article in the Marietta Daily Journal (http://www.mdjonline.com/view/full_stor ... _news_left" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) there was no mention of the Big South:
And what conference would the Owls play in?

Kennesaw State's current conference, the Atlantic Sun, does not sponsor football. If the Owls were accepted into the conference of their choice, three possibilities would lie with the Southern Conference, Colonial Athletic Association or the Ohio Valley Conference. Each of those three conferences would allow the Owls to have at least one natural, geographical rival - Georgia Southern in the Southern, Georgia State in the Colonial and Jacksonville State in the Ohio Valley.

Of course I think they are just speculating based on what has been published so far, and not through some insider info or anything.

Well for one - they have zero change chance in the Southern or CAA. I don't much about the OVC, but I do know that JSU won't be there very much longer (read Sun Belt).

Big South is the only real place for KSU to go.

Now don't be down on them for setting the Big East as a goal. When you start football and your intention is to go FBS, do you really say "We're aiming for the Sun Belt!"? Nothing wrong with having lofty goals, its the follow-through that gets you there.
