Well, how many games ahead of the Braves were the Phils a month ago? I haven't looked it up, but wasn't it like five or six games? If so, that's a seven or eight game swing. Keep on that pace and they're ten games back in another month.

I just don't have a great feeling, like BHBK. This is beyond just a slump. I'm not bailing, but I'm mentally preparing for the possibility of a fall without baseball.

I'm not throwing in the towel yet, but the AL stretch coming up is very important. The Phils have been terrible in interleague play for several years now, and a Boston-NY road trip is a tough challenge.

As long as the Phils are within 5 games of 1st by the end of July they're fine. Anything worse than that and I would worry. Remember, after September 5th, every game they play is against the NL East (including 6 games with the Braves) - just way too many games to go at this point.

JESUS H. CHRIST!! Another shutout loss, wasting good effort by Halladay. Trade Werth now and bring Brown up. Disgusting!

Chipper only hit .264 with 18 HR's last year - he is close to 40 and has played close to 20 years, it is possible that he won't start hitting again ever.

Of course, if the Phils start getting any two of the following hitting again: Victorino, Polanco, Utley, Howard, Werth, Ibanez, Ruiz, Rollins then the Phils will be in a good spot too.

Just sayin':

Raul Ibanez, in 57 games: .247BA, 3HR, 24RBI, 0SB

Dominic Brown, in 52 games: .309BA, 10HR, 33RBI, 9SB

again, just sayin', but if you ain't gonna include Brown in deals, you're gonna be faced with stats like this staring you in the face.......

Nice work, Moyer. Five runs allowed so far with one out in the first. :ohno:

At least I don't have to waste the rest of my night watching the Phils scratch out another loss.

what Chipper did last year .264 18hrs is within 15pts and 5hrs of Ibanez averages per season for his career. the 34 dingers Raul hit last year were a red herring. I'll take last years #'s from Chipper with Glaus and Heyward added in. Brian McCann is starting to square a few up and we get Jair Jurrgens back for the 2nd half. Right now everyone is chasing the ATLANTA BRAVES......."Old times they are not forgotten" :D

When you only have two major league starters on the roster, it's good to see them get a win.

In other news, Happ was rocked in his rehab appearance today.

In a season consisting of 162 games it sure shouldn't make any one game very important, but by golly if tonight's game doesn't seem a little more important than the rest.

Halladay vs Sabathia in the Bronx

C'mon Phils. Let's get back on track. :thumb:

Friggin' Texiera pop fly goes over the wall in that band box. I don't ever want to hear another complaint about CBP.

Juan "Rally Killer" Castro cooled that off quickly.

Two really nice at-bats by Rauuul tonight. Credit where it's due.

HERE'S ANOTHER, CITDOG: HOW ABOUT HAVING REAL FAN SUPPORT AT YOUR GAMES? NOT JUST 15,000 WHACKED-OUT CRACKERS WHO DON'T KNOW BASEBALL FROM A CAN OF BARDAHL SUCKIN' DOWN OVERPRICED BUD LIGHTS?
